Is there a typical application you are using? I noticed that file size (especially in adobe) can be an issue. If you go to printer settings (start / settings / printers / right click on the 1320 and select properties) choose device settings and the very bottom item is printer memory. I would increase this to like 80mb.... hope this helps
If the paper size in the word document is set to something other than "letter" example if it is set to legal. Then the lite is lit to let the printer user know it is waiting for him to place a sheet of legal paper in the printer, he does so and then presses the green button to start the print job. You can check this by going to "file-page setup" in word and look for the paper size setting.
Try this -- it worked on my HP Office Jet 7310xi --
1) Control Panel -- Printers
2) Click on Add Printer
3) Add a local Printer
4) Click on "Use Existing Port" then choose "USB 001..." Then Click NEXT
5) Choose HP from Manufacturer Then choose HP 990c. Then Click Next
6) This will install the drivers and make the 990c the default printer. Use this printer as your default and choose the Print on Both Sides option. It works for my 7310xi. Good luck.
Make sure you can view filenames with the trailing dot and 3 letters so you can see the type of file. (Use tools menu, folder options, view, uncheck "hide extensions for known types")
Doubleclick on the downloaded file and note where it is unzipping to (c:\lj something or other). Open that folder. Right click on the file ending in .inf and choose "install" in the menu that pops up.
If that fails, open the control panel, choose Printers & faxes, rightclick on the HP printer, and choose "properties". Look for the "update driver" button, probably under "advanced". Help it choose that .inf file.
