Doing a soft reset A soft reset tells your handheld to stop what it's doing and start over again. None of your information will be lost. After a soft reset, a screen appears that lets you reset the date and time, if needed. To do a soft reset, use the tip of an unfolded paper clip (or similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.

If a soft reset does not unfreeze your handheld, you need to do a hard reset. Doing a hard reset Only do a hard reset if a soft reset doesn't solve your problem, or if you want to clear all of your information from your handheld. [!] IMPORTANT A hard reset deletes all records and entries stored on your handheld, including the username that identifies the handheld. Before you do a hard reset, be sure to synchronize.

    If your handheld continues to freeze after a reset, check your third-party applications for incompatible applications.

    If you think you have an incompatible application, here is a link to the Palm support for this specific problem

    http://www.palm.com/us/support/userguide...

    It explains the problems with incompatible applications and how to the third party application that is causing the problem.

I understand that your palmtop PC is frozen however, I believe that many of these drives were corrupted OR your memory has run out space. I suggest have it checked to liscensed technician and have it backed-up some of your vital files and documents then refomat it to replace the software with a new one and to supply new drivers as well.

Hi,

Is this how you performed the update?

  1. Slide open your handheld.
  2. While pressing on the Power button use the tip of your stylus to press the Reset button on the back of your handheld.
  3. Continue holding the Power button until the Palm logo is displayed, then release the Power button.
  4. Your screen should now display the following:
    Erase all data?
    Yes = "up" button
    No = any other button
  5. Press the "up" button to erase all data.
  6. Complete the setup on the handheld (picking language, set date/time, etc.)

Please use the free chat feature that palm offers. I am not sure of any other way to charge your palm. Here is the link. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see Palm Chat. Click on the Chat Now link and follow the instructions. Best wishes.

You might be able to find a charger on Ebay too.

Error in Palm Desktop on PC

You need version Palm desktop v6.2 (not v4) to run under Vista. If you have the 64 bit version of Vista you will have to use Bluetooth to transfer data, not USB. Enjoy and please rate this post.

Phone restart

Did you poke the reset hole in the back of the palm? This does a reboot.
You can try that, or try plugging it in to charge and while it's charging poke the reset hole (this is supposed to reset the charging mechanism).

Hi, from the sounds of your situation, im sorry to tell you that your address book is gone. If you have hotsync with your desktop before, you may be able to retrieve a copy of your address book from your last sync. Otherwise there are companies available to recover data from pdas but their services are very expensive.

Synchronizing Tungsten T3 with desktop or laptop

I recently re-installed my T3 program

What do you mean?
  • Did you restore your T3 from a backup on the PC?
  • Did you install programs on the T3 using the PC's "quick install"?
Is Palm Desktop showing the correct Contact/To-do/Calendar Data?

How are the conduits set up? (From Palm Desktop, select Hotsync->Custom)
