Get a toothbrush and some methylated spirits, and clean the charging jack on the iphone, as it is most probably corroded. make sure the phone is off first. and just scrub it for a good minute.

Hi Michele, lets suppose that your iPhone is a 3gs or 3g. That means that u can not turn up brightness if u haven't first unlock your iPhone because that can happen only with ios 7. A 3g-3gs can only be updated with-until ios 6.1... .1) So go to a place with no day light. or just with low light. If your iPhone hasn't any problem then you will be able to unlock and turn brightness on (Slide to unlock - Settings - Wallpapers and Brightness). 2) Check if the Battery is empty, hold down the Power Button for some seconds until it shows the sign for charging (i think is a battery sign). 3) If it is not happening any of the above then you have to reset your iPhone. Just connect it to your PC or iMAc and open iTunes. There you can see if your phone can be found from iTunes. If it can be found this is good news. It does n't have any damage. So, in iTunes you can find the function so as to reset it. Reset means your data will be erased and the settings will be set to default. So first do a back up and also save your contacts in outlook. 4) IF your IPhone is 4or 4s or 5,5c 5s go as above in a place with no day light or low light and just drag from upwards so as show the external menu of ios 7. There you can see the brightness setting. Good Luck. Hope it helps
I had the same problem a few days ago. this could be because the battery is not connected to the cell phone properly (from dropping it or leaving the cell phone in the sun) and may need something, such as tissue paper or ordinary paper to be folded and put on the one side of the battery which is not connected and this will tighten the connection. hope this helps
Your iphone 3gs home button disturbed cause of falling, the charger pin n home screen button closely arranged... Try to service your Iphone in a apple authorized service centre... Dont try to service with unauthorized people...
It probably just a defective battery. Bring it to the apple store to see if you get a replacement through them. If you can't, there are third party iPhone repair services, that will fixed it for cheap. Also, I found an DYI iphone repair guide, so you can do it yourself too, not that difficult.
my phone is a IPhone 3gs and i cracked the screen a couple of months ago and a couple of days ago my screen started to act really slow and it wouldnt work on some parts and now today my screen wont work nor respond at all. PLEASE HELP ME I REALLY NEED MY PHONE ...!!!!!
okay, heres what you need to do, if its a 3g/3gs, if its an original your out of luck. anyway the charging assembly is the same as the speaker and microphone set up its all one piece, search youtube on how to open an iphone, once you do you can see an assembly on the bottom, pull up the tab that says "4" there will be 4 screws to remove in each corner of the set up. once removed pull it out and replace it with a new one. (you can buy these off ebay, search for iPhone 3g/3gs charging assembly)
