What program are you using? The answer may be different if you are using a Microsoft product, vs an Apple product, on your Mac.

Have you tried shutting down and restarting your Mac?

You've probably "frozen" your pane. "Freeze Panes" is a feature which allows you to keep one or more left-hand columns or top rows visible while you scroll through your worksheet.

You didn't say which version of Excel your're using, but in Excel 2007, you can either freeze the Row 1, Column A, or any number of rows and columns based on which cell is selected (i.e., where your cursor is) when you click on "Freeze Panes."

In Excel 2007*, the way to fix this would be to click on the "View" tab, then the "Freeze Panes" icon, which will give you several choices. Click on "Unfreeze Panes." There you go.

* The steps are similar in other versions.

Engine will not start.. Turn key to on position. The icon on the dash read out stays on. Even after replacing the Key cylinder,.. no spark either Changed; fuel pump. Crank censer, Key cylinder,...

You probably have a bad mechanical switch, located on top of the steering column close to your feet. Remove bottom panel below steering column, then remove nuts / bolts holding column onti the dash. Lower column and the rectangular box with the metal rod going into it is the mech. switch. Unplug harness and inspect for corrosion / bad pins, clean pins, regrease with dielectric grease. Check mounting screw locations for a mis - aligned or moved switch - sometimes the switch will move and prevent the metal rod from activating start circuit. If switch has moved, loosen screws and move back to original location. Now try starting again. If it doesn't work then replace with new unit. Before removing mounting screws, mark location of switch on column to assure correct location.
Hope this helps!!

Trying out program library. Cannot find "FRAC" command within the menu system or owners manual... can you help?

First of all you have a key marked [a b/c]. It is in the first column of keys, below the [X,theta, T] key and above the 7 digit key. Its second (shifted) function is [d/c] These two keys are used to enter mixed numbers and improper fractions.

The command is also accessed from the menus.

  1. In Run screen press [OPTN]
  2. Press [F6] to move to next page of menus.
  3. Press [F4:NUM]
  4. Among the menu Tabs at the bottom of screen there is the Frac Menu.

Why doesn't my printer let me print assignments like resumes etc???

You may have used a template to make a resume. I am assuming you use Microsoft word to do your assignment. If that is the case, you start with a blank sheet of paper. For example,If you would like to have rows and columns, click on table then insert rows or columns and use tab button to move from one column to other. Basically, in the absence of a template you need to do your own design of the page.
Even after that you need to check how the printer is going to print it. To do that, Click on file. Scroll down to print preview. Click on that. When the page opens it will show how exactly the printer is going to print. (You may notice some lines you had on the original document is missing in the new view) If what you see is not what you need, then make necessary changes in the original document. For example borders on table properties. Once done, come back to preview.

Cannot insert columns in excel spreadsheet. Comes up with error cannot shift object off sheet

This error message occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • The option Nothing (hide objects) is selected in the Display options for this workbook section in the Excel Options dialog box.
  • You create an object, such as a cell comment, in any cell in a column.
  • You try to hide the column to the left of the column that contains the object, the column that contains the object, or all the columns to the right side of the column that contains the object. Or, in some cases, you try to insert a row or column in the worksheet.
There are two ways to fix this problem.
Method 1:  Temporarily toggle the option from "Nothing (hide objects)" to All In Excel 2007, temporarily toggle the option from Nothing (hide objects) to All, and then insert the rows or columns as needed. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In the upper-left corner of the Excel window, click the Microsoft Office button.
  2. At the bottom of the menu, click Excel Options.
  3. Click Advanced from list of options on the left.
  4. Scroll down to the Display options for this workbook section, and then click All under For objects, show:, and then click OK.
Notes To use the keyboard shortcut to toggle this selection, press CTRL+6.
If these steps do not let you hide rows or columns or insert rows or columns in Excel 2007, try the steps in method 2.
Method 2: Change the position property of the object to Move and size with cells To work around this issue, Excel 2003, Excel 2002, and Excel 2000, change the position property of the object to Move and size with cells. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. If the object is a cell comment, select the cell that contains the comment, right-click the cell, and then click Show Comment or Show/Hide Comments. Note This makes the comment visible.
  2. Move the pointer to the edge of the object until the pointer changes into a white arrow with four small black arrows on the pointer. Then, click the object to select it.
  3. In Excel 2003 and earlier version of Excel, click <object name> on the Format menu. Note In this menu command, <object name> is the name of the object, such as "Comment" or "AutoShape."  In Excel 2007, click Format <object name>.
  4. In the Format dialog box, click the Properties tab.
  5. Click Move and size with cells, and then click OK.
  6. If you want to hide the cell comment again, right-click the cell that contains the comment, and then click Hide Comment.
  7. Follow these steps for each object in the affected column as described in the "Cause" section. When you hide the columns, you do not receive the error message.

Lookup,s

If you can move your name column (C) to the first column, you could leverage the VLOOKUP formula pretty easily.
To do this, do the following:
1) Move the C Column to be the A Column, shifting all other columns to the right.
2) (optional) Insert a new row at the top of the sheet (to hold the formula & seach value)
3) Use A1 as your search field.
4) In A2, enter the following formula:
=VLOOKUP($A$1,$A$2:$C$6,3,)

Describing above parameters, in the formula:
$A$1 -> the search field (name your looking for).
$A$2:$C$6 -> The table/grid you wish to search and return values from. The left most column (A) must contain the values to be searched.
3 -> is the column number (A=1,B=2,C=3, etc) within the table/grid to return.

If you cannot make the name column your first (A) column, there are more complex ways to do this. For instance, create a new sheet which redisplays the info in the structure easier for this method, and perform the VLOOKUP on that data. Other options might exist in creating a complex formula that would get you what you want.
Also, if you can sort column A (names) it would find results faster, if your data set is large.
