High chair My son was sitting in the safety 1st booster/highchairs that have a strap that can go on both the bottom and around the back. While sitting in it he fell face first into the floor because the stap comes loose from him moving in it. We have tried to do it both ways as in under and around but it just seems to come loose. What can I do to fixs this problem?

When putting the straps into the seat, make sure that the flap is unfolding over the hole, making it lock into place. Also, once you fasten the straps around both the bottom and the back, make sure you pull them as tight as you can around the chair, which helps limit the amount of movement.

Can you buy high chairs on wheels, to avoid dragging them across the kitchen lino?

You'll be pleased to hear that now you can get quite a few high chairs that come with rear wheels which lets you move the chair around without damaging your floor. Here's an example from the Cosatto range. http://www.cosatto.com/products/highchairs/aurora-highchair

Do I have to use the safety straps on my kid's high chair? She's a really passive child and doesn't move around a lot but I find the straps are quite restrictive.

Speaking from experience, you should ALWAYS use the safety straps on all your kid's equipment. Even a child that likes to stay still, could suddenly decide to reach for something or get adventurous and take a tumble. My little one fell out the high chair and we spent all afternoon in the emergency (thankfully she was ok), but it's just not worth the risk.

When can my baby start using a highchair?

A highchair can be used as soon as your baby is big enough to sit up on their own. This is normally around 6 months old, depending on the development of your child it may be slightly sooner or later than that.

Why should I get my son a booster seat? Is it not ok to transition from a high chair to a regular table chair?

Booster seats offer several great advantages. First and foremost is safety. Most booster seats are designed with a safety belt securing both your child to the seat and the seat to the chair. I also believe that booster seats are a great learning tool. They will help teach your child how to sit properly at a table with much more freedom than a highchair and less accidents than an "adult" chair.

I'm struggling to adjust the safety harness on the

You're right, the straps shouldn't be choking your son, but it could be that he isn't' quite tall enough for the chair yet and needs a booster insert so he is sitting higher? My kids all needed an insert for quite a long time before they could be strapped in without it.

I have a 6 months baby, should I get a high chair or a booster?

: I recommend getting ahigh chair for babies in this age. Boosters will not provide the body sidesupport a baby needs. When your baby is sitting and stable (when about 1.5-2Years, than it is safer to try a booster.

Where can i buy chicco polly high chair replacement straps?

I did alot of searching on the internet for straps and found highchairbelts.com that didn't charge an arm and a leg for shipping or handling . One strap was $9 shipped so I bought three for $17 shipped FREE!! I sewed the ends of one strap together to use with Marissa's shopping cart cover at the grocery store. The ones on the carts are usually broken or missing and end or just plain filthy!
