Panasonic rr-us935 user account cannot download files from recorder to PC

I have a client in our environment who purchased this device and the software Panasonic_Voice_Editing_Pro_1.0 - however, when the client has the software installed via sms - they try to bring their files to the PC using the Panasonic_Voice_Editing_Pro_1.0 software and it gives an error - if an admin account user tries it works - anyone with an idea as to how to resolve this?

    Hi Dineze,

Thaks you very much for the direction. As it turned out, i needed to create a share and use the Voice software virtual mapping to it - this was done throught the Alias file and the user given full permissions to that share - then it worked.

I had given the users full permissions to a folder that all client have access to use, however it would appear there is a security permissions issue that still would not allow the users the permissions regardless.

Anyway, Thanks again for the info, it helped in my investigation.

Create a share (either local or remotely)

Give client full access to that share

Map drive under the clients account to the share

Add the mapped drvie to the alias file

this allows the client to convert Wav files from the device to the share location.

    Cheers everyone

I have a client trying to send me files recorded on a Panasonic RR US395.  She doesn't seem to be able to copy the files to a disc on her laptop.  If I have the driver, can I open the .lnk file that has been copied on the disc?  Urgent help please, she is going back to the middle of nowhere tomorrow and we have 60 hours of audio files I need to get hold of! - please help with any info or driver!

Urgent help needed.  Client has 60 hours of audio files I need to get hold of before she goes back to the middle of nowhere for work.  She copies files but we only get a voice editor.lnk file.  She used a Panasonic RR-US395 and I think if I had the driver I could get the files?  Is that right?  Any suggestions? Help!

Whats the environment like? If it is over a server or likes of, I suggest you trying your sharing/security options. If only an account administrator can do anything, it normally points to this problem....check settings that the admin account has to the settings your client has and see if there is a difference then work forward from there.

I found another alternative to this - using cmd - subst <drive_letter>: C:\<YourWorkingDirectory>
make sure the user or allusers have full permissions to this directory.
in the voice media menu, your drop down menu will now have this drive to work with or from.
Important - this method is a virtual drive not an actual long term mapped drive - meaning - when you log off or restart the machine - cmd method will have to be executed again - i created a script that does it for me and then launches the application - its easier that way.
also, if this does not work then make the working dir a share with all users permissions on it and network map a drive letter to it (not a virtual mapping) - then add this share to your alias and registry paths instead
hope this helps

this is an easier work around for the write protected error - which occurs as a result of locked permissions on c:\ - note that normal network mapping does not work in this case - only the virtual drive method seems to work - good luck

I have an mp3 recorder from panasonic, rr-us570, I need to download the recording onto my computer so I can email it to a tutor, how do I do that

Under Linux it showed up as a disk with one partition
and a VFAT filesystem, though I had to mount it manually. No problem copying or playing files.
Under XP it didn't appear as a disk. It did come with a CD but I left that at home.
Normally, you just find the device under "my computer", explore the filesystem on it until you get the right one, then drag it into your mail client.

Upload files from Panasonic RR-US395 to Mac OS 10.4

I am assuming you are aware that this software is not available anywhere for the Mac. With that said, I only see two options for you (don't laugh at the obvious one):
1. Upload to a Windows based PC or PDA and transfer to the Mac.
2. Install a virtual environment for the Mac that supports Windows.

Just installed my RR-US360 Voice Studio 2.0 into my new Dell 1525

I have herd that there is a driver option but i have installed all the drivers and granted privleages for them for various device models and they do not correct this - they also state to uninstall and reinstall - after 5 times for each device i realized panasonic support and tech advise generic brush offs!
i have a work around and it is located here:

its a little involved but it does work! for any account type that isnt 100% locked down - but its a workaround and thats all and a total pain in the **** if you have to support a variety of them packaged in a network environment like i do :-S

I am suggesting that our devices for these types of requirements be investigated and panasonic removed from the environement as a result of their unwillingness to address this matter for the past few generations and models of these devices

There's nothing you can really do about it.

Panasonic RR-US500

After installing the software update from Panasonic, plug your recorder into the computer. Go into 'Control Panel' and select 'Hardware and Sound'. Then Select 'Device Manager' and select 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'. You should have a device for 'Panasonic IC Recorder', it might be flagged yellow, right click on it and select 'uninstall'. Unplug your recorder from the computer, replug your recorder into the computer, the Device Manager screen will refresh and you should have 'Panasonic IC Recorder' back in the list. Try the Voice software, you should have in the drive list 'IC recorder'. Transfer your files.

It worked for me,
