Question about Brother IntelliFax-2820 Laser Fax
We have 2 of these and both of them continually have problems with printing thick black lines on paper. We have: replaced cartridge, cleaned drum, moved that little blue thing back and forth like the manual says, etc. It is getting very annoying and happens over and over again. Is this a problem with this machine? Is it a toner issue? Do we just need to buy new machines?
If it is on copying it can be a build up of ink on the scanner glass. Open the cover in which the the original is scanned. There will be glass strip that can be cleaned also check the white plate that sits above the scan glass.
If it is recieved faxes and prints as well the problem is going to be the drum has worn out. You have two machines, try interchanging the drums to see if the lines that are present on one machine travels to the next. That way you can see if it is definately the drum. If so change the drums on the machines and they should be fixed.
