I do not know if mine is the santria brand but are you turning the knob on top of the solution carrier to off before trying to suck the water? Renee

Hi There, The machine does not actually suck the suds up. Basically the machine lays the foam down which then crystalises and absorbs the dirt in the process. Once this has had around - 4-5 hours to dry then you vacuum up as normal taking the crystalised dirt away. You should really use the Genuine Kirby product as it's very good but you can also you any other DRY FOAM shampoo. Hope this helps Chris www.elidistribution.co.uk

SOURCE: The blower attachment
You need to take the power nozzle off and attach the thing that looks like a little plastic cup with two hooks on it. This is the intake guard. Attach it to the front. Now remove the cloth bag and put the hose on the hole where the bag was. You'll have to line the arrow on the hose up with the notch on the Kirby and push the hose arm toward the Kirby until it pops on. If you need to, lube up the edges of the hole with a wee bit of vaseline or hand lotion. This makes the hose engage easier. Since you lost your manual, you may need belt change instructions as well. Here is a link to my online guide that will show you how....
Hope this helps...

make sure the brushes on the shampooer head are spinning and that you have the shampooer head lowered all the way down to its lowest setting. Also...shampoo at a slower pace than you would move when vacuuming...when both putting down the suds on heavily soiled areas and scooping them up. The more oils in the carpet, the less suds you'll see when the shampooer is working properly. one more thing that may be mentioned in the guide is the little round sud screen that attaches to one end of the shampooer hose...make sure that little mesh screen is there and seated properly. It is what produces the suds from the shampoo solution.

ok lift up the light plate on top of the rug nozzle then turn the belt lifter on the rug nozzle to the right until you cant turn it anymore then lift the latch on top of the rug nozzle then hook up the hose to the hole where the rug nozzle was and latch it on and your ready to go
