I have the same problem. After downloading the driver (I used the same link you mention and I have Windows XP) when I try to unzip the file it doesn't give me the .exe to run the installation.

The exe file gives you the driver, but there is no .exe autoinstaller.

You have to manually install the printer and load the driver using this path:

Settings -> printers -> add a printer -> add a local printer -> LPT1 port

once there ignore the drivers list and press "Have disk", then locate the previous unzipped driver location and press ok.

You should get your printer installed and ready.

Hope it was helpful.

Hi,

The issue you have posted does require some more information to isolate the issue to fix it, information like do you see the file which has been downloaded, when you click on the file does it prompts you options to open Egg. Open with? While downloading the file what option have you selected, as you will see options like RUN SAVE, was it a zip file usually the zipped file will have a .ZIP or RAR extension etc, however let me suggest you few steps that you could try to get the issue fixed.

  1. Try to locate driver file you have downloaded and right click on it, then click on properties.
  2. Try to find out the File type on the window under general tab and check if it does have a .ZIP, RAR extensions, if so you will have to unzip the file using the appropriate unzip software before you can get the exe file to start the in dtallation wizard.
Find the link for the unzip software free download here:
http://www.soft82.com/download/Windows/WinRAR

  1. If you fix the file extension as .EXE double click on the file to start the driver installation wizard and follow the onscreen instructions.
Alternately you can download the printer driver for your printer with the help of the link below, if you have Windows XP or Windows 2000 installed on your system.

http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Fargo-ProL-Printer-Driver-Download-34050.html
Note: You will have to right click on the Yellow bar which will appear at the top of your screen just below the address bar and select download, for the download to start.
Once the download is complete click on RUN option on the window which will appear to start the printer driver installation.

You can also go through the read our Downloading FAQ & Guide on the same page, if you require any further assistance in downloading the driver.

Should you require any further assistance regarding the printer or even any other compute related issue please feel free to contact me I will be more than glad to assist you.

Regards

My fargo Pro L is not laminating and always says lam adjusting

Try Updating the firmware on the printer and the lamination module.

Go to HIDglobal.com. Under the support tab, click drivers & downloads. Populate the drop down menus with make and model.

The most recent software is shown here. Go to the section "Misc." and download Fargo Workbench. This utility enables you to update the printer by automatically pulling the most recent version off the Manufacturers website. Very Useful.

Windows 7 fargo printer drivers

There are no Windows 7 printer drivers available for the Pro-L printer. You may try using the original Windows XP driver if you know how to setup a virtual XP environment in Windows 7 Pro. This requires you to install the printer and the software that uses it inside the virtual XP.

I have bought a Fargo Pro LD Thermal printer, and have a windows xp desktop and a windows vista laptop. My problem is the driver that came with the printer is for windows 98. How do i go with instaliing...

The support options seem to be limited. However, I found an Win2K and XP driver here: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/PRINTER/OTHERS/Fargo-Pro-L-Printer-Driver-202.shtml . Click on the Download button on the left and then click on the download from External Mirror link.

For Vista, you may find the Compatibility option works. Right click on the file you downloaded (after unzipping if it ends in .zip, find an .exe file in this case) and choose Properties. Then click on the Compatibility tab. Set that up to run the program as XP. Then right click on the file again and choose Run as Administrator.

I hope this helps.

I need fargo pro L printer driver for windows 7

According to the Fargo Website:

http://fargosupport.com/archive_results.asp?archPrinter=5&archSubmit.x=42&archSubmit.y=5

The drivers only go as high as windows xp for now. Hopefully since Windows 7 is coming out soon that they will have a driver available for it shortly.
