I emailed Customer Support at Sanyo. They came back with a fix for myDX610.
Try this as most players are similar.
1. press setup on the remote.
2. from the setup menu seelct system info
3. enter 1101 from the remote.
4. press 0 for multi region. Or a region number.
Goog Luck.
