Clean nozzle and align program option not working

I click on the clean nozzle option and align option in the lexmark program and neither of them work. I installed the latest drivers and have also removed and reinstalled the program a few times. Option still doesn't work.

Any suggestions??

Yes I am using an original cartridge and have now refilled it yet. I do not use the color cartridge so I keep it in a plastic zip lock bag so that it will not dry out. Can leaving that cartridge out cause this problem?

Leaving cartridges unused unless sealed and brand new, will mostly always result in poor or no function. If you never use colour, do not buy them. Then when you do eventually want one, buy one. I have not yet come across a way of storing cartridges for long periods, apart from my lexmark spare ones which i drain of ink (i do my own ink) and clean with solution, then place upside down on wet paper to unblock head when i want them.

Have you tried simply turning off unit, unplugging, replugging, turning back on and trying again. This can reset errors. lilacgerry xxx

Of cource leaving the colour cartridge out causes this problem :)))))))))))))
You did not mentioned that, waw, that's a new one LOOL.

Sorry, here it is:
Aligning the cartridges is EXACTLY alingning the black with the color one! So if the one is not in, it's like aligning a stick with itself, how come?

Maybe the nozzle cleanig process is also affectet bt that.
Put the color cartridge in and if it works, rate this answer please as very helpfull! :)))

Anyway, thx, you made my day today, u made me smile, thx again! ;)

When printing on x3350 with a new cartridge... get lines that are double and some with thick black ink on some letters.

Brand new ink cartridge for Lexmark X3650. Error message to remove tape from cartridge. Tape has been removed. Print alignment prints in only black and same thing on cleaning process.

You can try to manually wipe the cartridge nozzles with a moistened soft cloth to clean it from dirts and clogs. You can also clean the nozzles using the Lexmark software on your computer. If you're using Windows, go to Programs/All Programs > Lexmark 3600-4600 Series folder > From the printer folder, click Maintenance > Clean Cartridges > Print. A page prints, forcing ink through the print cartridge nozzles to clean them.

Recently renewed ink cartridges in Lexmark x4650 with genuine Lexmark replacements and keep getting one or two lines of 'wavy text' per page

This can either be blocked nozzles on the cartridge, or an alignment problem. Go to Start - All Programs - Lexmark - Solution Center and print out a Clean Nozzle Page and an Alignment Page from the maintenance tab. That should fix the issue.

My Lexmark Z 515 printer does not print clearly especially the second part of a piece of paper. How can I clean the printer?

Hi there,
To improve print quality
1 On the operator panel, press Options repeatedly until
Cartridges appears.
2 Press the right arrow button until Align appears, and then press
Select.
An alignment page prints. Once the alignment sheet prints, your
automatic alignment is complete.
You may need to clean the print cartridge nozzles.
Using the operator panel
1
Load paper in the All-In-One.
2 Press Options until Cartridges appears on the display.
3 Press the right arrow until Clean appears on the display.
4 Press Select.
A nozzle page prints forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the
clogged nozzles.
5 Print your document again to verify your print quality has improved.
6 Try wiping the print cartridge nozzles and contacts, and then print your document again.
7 If print quality has not improved, try cleaning the print cartridge
nozzles up to two more times.
Using the Lexmark X5100 Series Solution Center
1
Load plain paper in the All-In-One. 2 Click Start Programs Lexmark X5100 Series Lexmark X5100 Series Solution Center.
3 Click the Maintenance tab.
4 From the Maintenance tab, click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.
5 Click Print.
6 Print your document again to verify your print quality has improved.
7 Try wiping the print cartridge nozzles and contacts, and then print your document again.
8 If print quality has not improved, try cleaning the print cartridge
nozzles up to two more times.
If the print quality does not improve after cleaning the print cartridge
nozzles, dried ink may be on the nozzles or contacts. To wipe the print
cartridge nozzles and contacts:
1 Remove the print cartridges.
2 Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with water.
3 Hold the cloth against the gold nozzle area for about three seconds.
Gently blot and wipe dry in one direction (this prevents the colors in
the color cartridge from mixing).
4 Remove the old cartridges
5 Let the nozzles and contacts dry completely.
6 Reinstall the print cartridges, and then print your document again.
7 If the print quality has not improved, try cleaning the print
nozzles up to two more times
8 If print quality is still unsatisfactory, replace your print cartridges.

Hope this helps.
Thanks
Have a good day.

Color cartridge stopped working.

Try cleaning the contacts on both the ink cartridge and the carriage with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. If that does not work, the nozzles on the color ink cartridge may be clogged with dry ink.

There is a nozzle cleaning utility in the Lexmark Solutions Center. Use that to clean the nozzles of your ink cartridges. The Lexmark Solutions Center is installed on your computer. You can find it in the Windows Start Menu under "All Programs" in a folder marked "Lexmark".

If your printer has been sitting without use for more than a few weeks, the nozzles may be too clogged with dry ink to clean by conventional means.

It nothing works, replace the color ink cartridge.

I have an Epson w/c had this problem a # of times. Go to the printer PROPERTIES tab (right click printer icon might work). Click on UTILITIES & you should see options for NOZZLE CHECK, HEAD CLEANING & PRINT HEAD ALIGNMENT. Follow instructions on all 3 until your Print Head Alignment printout is perfect. It might take a few head cleaning procedures
before you get it right. Good luck.
