Re: uniden bc 350a
Hi, Is you CB gear grounded to an "earth" ground? Also try moving the scanner around, away from the CB coax, as your probably getting stray RF from there. I've run 100watt with my scanner 5ft. away from it and no problems for the last 6 years,, You are using good quality coax, aren't you? Cheap coax leaks like a soaker hose. Hope this helps you,, Mechanic ** and preaching about ham radio does not solve this persons problem!**

That's a very nice choice in scanners. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me here. If you are satisfied with my service then please do leave a comment so that others know of my quality work. I also apologize for the slight delay. For some reason this came through before I got online for the day.
If you haven't already done so, while scanning in the PRIVATE mode, turn the SQUELCH control down slowly until scanning stops and you hear a hissing noise. Then turn the SQUELCH up slowly until scanning resumes. This should set the threshold so that the scanner will stop on an active frequency.
The actual setting will vary according to the strength of the signals you're receiving, so it may require adjustment as you move around. With the unit scanning, turn the squelch down slowly until scanning stops and you hear a hissing noise. They slowly bring the level up until scanning resumes.
hi . i w given a Uniden Bearcat 175XL 16 channel scanning radio. the OPERATION buttons are: PRI SPEED WX LIMIT SRCH HOLD DELAY LOCKOUT and in orage color: SCAN MANUAL. please help. the only thing i can get to hear is the WEATHER CHANNEL. i cant even hear the squelch. can u help
To program a BC 70XLT turn the scanner on and hit the man key. enter the channel you want to program (ie 1) hit the man key again then enter the frequency you want to scan (IE 450.625) then hit the E key to enter the freq into the location if you want to sequence to the next channel then hit the man key again enter the freq and hit the E key.you can go through all 20 channels this way.
If it's indeed a BC-100 and not a BC-100xlt, the 16 channels are easy to program and use. 1. Press MANUAL 3 MANUAL with 3 being the number of the channel you wish to program. 2. Enter the frequency for that channel (e.g., 162.55) followed by ENTER. 3. Follow the same sequence for each channel you wish to program, except that pressing MANUAL after you program a channel will advance the scanner to the next channel.
To scan, simply press the SCAN button after your frequencies are programmed.
You probably locked out all the banks. Look at the top of the display, you should see numbers from 1 to 10. If you don't, press 'scan', then press each key that corresponds to any missing numbers (I'm guessing that all but the number '1' are missing). As you press each key the number will reappear at the top of the display.
