Uniden bc 350a

Hi, the squlech wont work therfore it wont scan. it has been exposed to some high rf from my cb radio ( about 70 watts) after i keyed the mike, no squlech. i shut it off for about 3 mos, and it worked fine. then i did the same thing. keyed the mike again, and lost the squlech again. is there a better solution? i dont want to shut it off for another 3 mos.

Try operating the CB at it the FCC's "legal limit" of "4" watts and I bet you won't have the problem. That's why the FCC established rules for radio frequency bands.... to prevent interference with other equipment and radio services. You may unknowingly be interferiing with other things as well outside of your home....such as neighbor's TV's, Police/Fire radios, cordless phones.....I'd reconsider the 70 watts and go back to the legal limit before "Uncle Charlie" comes knocking at your door. Ever consider Ham Radio?

Hi, Is you CB gear grounded to an "earth" ground? Also try moving the scanner around, away from the CB coax, as your probably getting stray RF from there. I've run 100watt with my scanner 5ft. away from it and no problems for the last 6 years,,
You are using good quality coax, aren't you? Cheap coax leaks like a soaker hose. Hope this helps you,, Mechanic

I cant get my 350a to lock in on a channel when its scanning in the private mold.it will try sometimes but wont hold them. I can push the hold button and hear crystal clear in the private mold. help...

If you haven't already done so, while scanning in the PRIVATE mode, turn the SQUELCH control down slowly until scanning stops and you hear a hissing noise. Then turn the SQUELCH up slowly until scanning resumes. This should set the threshold so that the scanner will stop on an active frequency.

Uniden Bearcat BC 350A scanner won't pick up 800 channels

You BC350A provides coverage of popular bands between 29 and 512MHz, so it is not capable of receiving signals in the 800MHz range. Sorry, but you'll need a different scanner to follow the action.

How do i adjust the squlech on my unidenbc12xlt hand held scanner

The actual setting will vary according to the strength of the signals you're receiving, so it may require adjustment as you move around. With the unit scanning, turn the squelch down slowly until scanning stops and you hear a hissing noise. They slowly bring the level up until scanning resumes.

Uniden/bearcat BC-100

If it's indeed a BC-100 and not a BC-100xlt, the 16 channels are easy to program and use.
1. Press MANUAL 3 MANUAL with 3 being the number of the channel you wish to program.
2. Enter the frequency for that channel (e.g., 162.55) followed by ENTER.
3. Follow the same sequence for each channel you wish to program, except that pressing MANUAL after you program a channel will advance the scanner to the next channel.

To scan, simply press the SCAN button after your frequencies are programmed.

It quit scanning stay on one channel

You probably locked out all the banks. Look at the top of the display, you should see numbers from 1 to 10. If you don't, press 'scan', then press each key that corresponds to any missing numbers (I'm guessing that all but the number '1' are missing). As you press each key the number will reappear at the top of the display.
