Did it came across " blue screen of death or BOOTMGR is missing/ NTLDR is missing

Use Last Known Good Configuration

You can also try to boot the operating system with the LastKnown Good Configuration feature. This feature will allow you to undo anychanges that caused problems in the CurrentControlSet registry key, whichdefines hardware and driver settings. The Last Known Good Configuration featurereplaces the contents of the CurrentControlSet registry key with a backup copythat was last used to successfully start up the operating system. To use the Last Known Good Configuration feature, first restart the computer by pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Delete]. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options menu. Select the Last Known Good Configuration item from the menu and press [Enter].Keep in mind that you get only one shot with the Last KnownGood Configuration feature. In other words, if it fails to revive your WindowsXP on the first attempt, the backup copy is also corrupt.

If the method above can't help you, you can learn backup data when windows won't boot

Nldtr missing

Am I right in thinking you mean NTLDR and not NLDTR? If so here is the fix.

To fix the error on startup of NTLDR is missing in Win XP you should follow the steps below using a full version Win XP CD and the Recovery Console.
Insert the Windows CD and start the computer making sure the computer boots to the CD first.
When the Welcome to Setup screen appears, press R. (this may take a while to load)
Type a number corresponding to the Windows installation you wish to repair (usually 1) and press Enter. When prompted, type the administrator password and press Enter. (if no password was entered on you system then just press enter)
From the command prompt you want to copy NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM from the i386 folder of the CD to the root folder of the hard drive. This is much easier than it sounds and can be done by typing the commands below.
In the examples below C: is presumed to be your hard drive and D: is presumed to be your CD drive. You will need to change the drive letters to your own if you have more than one drive. ( if you are having problems entering \ then try pressing the # key to see if that works)
Type these 2 commands exactly and press enter after each one.
COPY D:\I386\NTLDR C:\
COPY D:\I386\NTDETECT.COM C:\
Now remove the Windows XP CD from the drive and restart the computer and your computer should now start normally.

I have a problem to install window 98 .

Another solution is to download and install Microsoft Virtual PC in XP, create a Virtual PC drive, and install Windows 98 onto the Virtual PC drive. This works fine if you want to run Win 9X programs which don't require access to USB ports on your computer. If you need Windows 98 to have full access to all of the computer hardware, then use palaboy's solution.

Computer does not recognize the cd rom drives on this computer

Hello my name is Tim, It sounds like you may need to reinstall the drivers and get your pc to locate the drives, you can usually get these drivers from the manfacturers website or from download.com for free, if you have the install disks for the dvd burner and cd rom you can use another pc to load them onto a usb drive and then transfer them to your pc that way. You can also go to controll panel, then device manager, and try to locate it there to see if it needs any drivers. I hope this heled you, please feel free to ask more questions and I will try to help.

Usb 2.0 windows 98

Windows 98 SE supports USB 2.0. The original Windows 98 (gold) or Windows 98 OEM or Windows 98 Upgrade versions which are not SE will not support USB 2.0. Nor is there any way to get USB 2.0 support for these Windows 98 versions unless you upgrade to Windows 98 SE.

Note that the Windows 98 SE upgrade CD will fail upon completion, leaving the SE Upgrade with a corrupt registry, if you try to run the Windows 98 SE Upgrade CD on a Windows 98 system that has a version of IE installed which is higher than IE 4.

Installing printer

Did you just delete the files or did you uninstall the software? If you just deleted them, you may have to use a registry fixer. http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleaner/registry_cleaner.htm
Make sure that the last one was uninstalled first using Add/Remove programs. You should also delete all Temp files too. http://personal-computer-tutor.com/deletingtempfiles.htm
Hopefully this solves the problem, if not you can download the latest software from the Canon site.
