Thats not a good thing. There is some problem with the click wheel and that will have to be sent back to apple for them to fix. This is a hardware problem. Formating will not fix it because of this problem being a hard ware issue.

How do i fix my ipod

Toggle the "Hold" switch to the "On" position, then "Off." The "Hold" switch is the small sliding switch on the top of the iPod. Move it to the "On" position to show an orange rectangle. Move it back to the "Off" position to show a white rectangle. Hold the "Menu" and "Center" buttons. Press the 2 buttons at the same time for between 8 and 10 seconds. Your screen will go blank and then boot up with a dark Apple icon. The icon eventually turns bright and brings you back to your main menu once the reset is complete. Check your iPod to make sure it plays properly. If the iPod still does not work repeat the reset process. b> Scroll Wheel and Touch Wheel iPods Move the "Hold" switch from "On" to "Off." Press the "Play/Pause" button and the "Menu" button at the same time. Press both buttons together for approximately 6 to 8 seconds. This initiates the self-running reset process. Make sure the reset was successful. If problems persist you may need to perform the reset process once again. b> iPod Nano Move the on-off switch to the "Off" position that shows the green strip. Leave the iPod Nano in this position for 5 seconds. Move the switch back to the "On" position. Use your iPod Nano to make sure the reset worked properly and all your music is intact.

Will not switch on even after charging overnight

First try a hard reboot. Hold the Menu and Center Buttons down until the screen goes black. (or roughly for 5 (Mississippi) seconds) then release and a silver apple logo should appear. then after a while it should show the home screen. if this fails also then enter diagnostics. do this by holding the Menu and Center buttons in the same manner (roughly for 5 (Mississippi) seconds) however switch to holding the '
My best suggestion to you is to go onto apple's site and find the support page. schedule an appointment (i think they are free) or call/email. if it is under warranty you can get it fixed/replaced. if it is not, then you can inquire about fees. apple is normally very good and i would reccomend looking into their support page fist, and then try thse methods.
Does the switch seem really easy to move? because if it is then you may need to pop the top off of the ipod (its only loosely glued, a guitar pick will do.) and check the connection. once the top is off, try using a toothpick to move the small red switch. ***WARNING!! THIS METHOD *MAY* VOID YOUR WARRANTY***
Is the ipod extremely old? if so the battery may have failed. this would cause the ipod to not hold a charge and thereby be unable to power on when you flip the switch. if this is the case i would suggest contacting apple and discussing a battery replacement. the process for opening the ipod past the plastic endcaps is fairly complicated and ****LIKELY WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY**** however if you would like to take this route instructions are available here:
Hope this is helpful, and if you need clarification, just ask!

Problem with IPod Nano Model A1137

Have you already reset the iPod? (Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.)
If this failed I would suggest going to:

Ipod 30GB

There may be 2 solutions for this problem:

The 1st solution:
The first thing you should do is locate the lock button on your ipod. Second make sure it's unlocked, lock it and wait for one second and then unlock it. Finally hold the inner Grey circle button in the center of the ipod until you see the apple logo appear on your screen.

The 2nd Solution:
Plug in your ipod and click on your ipod in your itunes library. By doing so you should be on your contents tab. Click on the settings tab and then click on restore. This should restore all your defaults on your ipod. Before you do all this; make sure you back up1.gif your ipod library if you don't currently have them in your itunes library.

If this solution helps you out please give rate me and leave a comment. Thank you...
