It appears to be dead. I have unplugged the unit and the unit is non-responsive. It does not respond to pushing any of its buttons or the remote has no effect. Does it have a reset switch?

In CD players and in 99% of home electronics, power supplies are no longer being made with bulky iron "Transformers" but use a precision electronic circuit to replicate the transformer. This circuit uses a variety of transistors and other semi-conductors to accomplish this. Within this same "circuit" are capacitors which along with the other parts in the supply, must be within a precise tolerance for them to work.
In the quest to keep electronics marketable, some manufacturers have tried to cheapen their products with innovative ideas on how to make the same old parts and have failed miserably. One of the biggest failures in the industry has been the "capacitors" and the biggest failure has been within power supplies. THIS I BELIEVE is the problem you are experiencing as many many other electronics owners have also. One of the biggest outbreaks of these failing capacitors has been within the computer industry where "motherboards" have had to be replaced in great quantities.
The problem is fixable but in general, not worth the cost of repair and replacement is the obvious remedy. Sorry, I hope you haven't gotten to attached to your disc player as it has become a "Throw-Away" world unless you invest some bigger bucks in a better disc player. Good Luck!

Have you checked whether mains power reaches the power board? Check it first. If yes, the power board you purchased newly should be checked.

My Daewoo American Style Fridge Freezer is completely dead. Checked power and electricity supply ok. Any suggestions?

My Daewoo Fridge Freezer was dead the same as yours. I purchased a new Electronic Module, this is the main PCB board on the top of the fridge freezer. There is a 3 amp fuse on this board which was blown by a faulty voltage regulator. This will set you back 90 pounds + postage, it is fairly easy to change & hey presto, a working fridge freezer

Remove all power from player, if it has a internal battery, remove it too, remove all power from player for 40 min. and that should reset it back to normal, if not then the processor is damaged.

I have a daewoo pdh42L40 monitor and it does not turn on. The main power switch in the back works, but the little green light on the front does not light up so I can use my remote to turn on.

1. the infrared receiver may be defective and may need replacement.
This will require service from a qualified tech to replace.
2. or you may have a dead remote. check the batteries also in the remote.

Dead set no standby light power ok up to

Could be anything! From a main board to a power supply. I recommend getting service on it from a authorized sony service center. If standby light doesn't appear at all for any given time, then it maybe the power supply.

Daewoo DVR-06 turns itself off while playing back

I have the same machine. It was randomly turning itself off 3 or 4 times during a regular 2 hour movie. In the setup menu there is an option to reset all the settings to the default original factory settings. I did so, went through the entire setup process again and my machine has not turned itself off since. I liken it to "rebooting".
