Question about Danby DKC646BLS Full Size / Pony Beer Keg Cooler

1 Answer

Cooler wont cool below 48 degrees.

I bought this keg cooler about 5 months ago and have used it several times. However, the temperature will never get below 48 degrees, even though I have it set at 36 degrees. The cooling motor seems fine and the coils are not iced over. When I feel the inside compartment it doesn't feel cold at all. Constant 48 degrees on the display.

My internal temperature will not drop below 50 degrees when I have any size keg in the keg cooler. I monitor the temperature with two thermometers. The electronic control panel display will show the temp as 38 degrees but the actual internal temp is 50 degrees.

I have a problem with my Danby Keg cooler. Internal temps are 50 degrees yet the electronic control panel display show 38 degrees. I have monitored the internal temp. The model doesn't have any thermostat adjustments inside the box. Any suggestions?

Keep a thermometer handy. (adjust temperature control knob accordingly)
Periodically monitor temperatures inside your cooler. (adjust as necessary)
Keep the refrigerator door closed as much as possible to avoid temperature fluctuations

The temperature of the refrigerator compartment is
controlled by adjusting/setting the thermostat control
knob, located on the ceiling of the refrigerator
cabinet.
To start the refrigerator, and achieve maximum
cooling quickly;
• Turn the temperature control knob (using a coin
or screwdriver) clockwise to the furthest
(maximum) setting on the darker blue section of
the graduated control dial.
• Allow the refrigerator to run at this setting for 3~4
hours.
• When maximum cooling is achieved, turn back
the temperature control knob setting to the 2:00
o'clock position on the graduated blue control
dial.
• Correct cooling temperature is a key factor to
consider in storing and dispensing draught beer.
• Optimum temperature for serving draught beer is
between 34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC)
• To maintain temperatures ranging between
34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC) We recommend the
thermostat knob be positioned at the "2:00
o'clock" setting on the graduated blue control dial.
• To turn off the refrigerator, (no cooling) rotate the
control knob to the "0" position.

I've owned it for about a year and have not had any trouble. But my Danby Kegerator just started beeping and flashing EE on the display one day and it won't cool. I had to unplug it. Any ideas

An EE error code means that you have loose connections (loose temperature sensor connections) check all the wires for a loose connection
temperature touch pad
the units main control board
the control board is in the back of the unit there is a panel covering in the middle lower back near the compressorInside your unit on the left side in the lower rear theres a vented piece of plastic pry that off thats the temperature sensor make sure all the connections are tight
If the error does not clear then your temperature sensor is faulty
you can get a new sensor at
www.repaiclinic.com.or
or at
www.appliancepartspros.com
hope this helped
Good Luck!

Beer freezes

The proper temperature should be between 35 and 42 degrees. Here are some things to try:

  • If your refrigerator temperature is closer to 35 degrees, try turning the temperature up slightly.

  • If the temperature is too low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you probably have a defective thermostat.

Beverage-Air Kegerator Not Staying Cold

It can take a very long time to get a keg of beer down in temperature. The heat transfer from a keg is slow due to the lack of air circulation inside the keg. You should also check your condenser coils, make sure they are clean. Door gasket should also be in good repair. Hope this helps.
