Are there speakers inbuilt into this laptop. as I cannot get the audio to play music onthe laptop. Or can anyone help me please to reinstall drivers etc to get sound. Thank you for your help.

You do not say which operating system you are using. My answer can therefore only be general rather than specific to your operating system.

The Video Camera you tried to install probably has an in-built microphone. Connecting this is may have changed the default settings for your audio devices.

You have a number of options for fixing this problem.

SYSTEM RESTORE
Start > All programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > Restore my computer to an earlier time > selected a highlighted date in the calendar and an Event in the schedule before the date you tried to install the video camera > restore > restart the computer (you should hear the windows logon on tones if you are using a windows operating system) > (My) Music > Sample Music > double click on any track to test the sound playback.

AUDIO SETTINGS
Start > Control Panel > Audio devices > Audio (Playback Devices) > Set Defaults (set the Speakers to be the Default Playback devices > apply > ok > restatrt computer > (My) Music > Sample Music > double click on any track to test the sound playback.


AUDIO/SOUND DRIVERS
Reinstalling the Audio/Sound Drivers would also probably resolve the problem by restoring your Default Audio settings, if you have the Driver CD for your Laptop or Desktop Motherboard > install Audio/Sound Driver > restart computer > (My) Music > Sample Music > double click on any track to test the sound playback.

I cannot direct you to a driver download site, because you have given no information about your computer.

Please check out a few things with your laptop 1. Play some music files and see what the software tell, if it normally plays music but you cannot hear it from the internal speaker then plug in a head phone or speaker and play some music if you are not able to hear in the headphone/speaker, then the problem is with the internal speaker, (Take it to the laptop service center for repairing the internal speakers).
2. Mostly sound problem occurs due to driver software problem it may be some times corrupted, uninstalled accidently but in such cases while trying to play a music file an error will appearing stating about the problem of sound driver, but first you can try uninstalling the audio driver and reinstall it.
3. To Uninstall insert the Driver cd that came with your laptop and Click on the audio driver icon or setup program, which will prompt you to install the audio driver> on second instance it will prompt you to uninstall or repair the driver> Click on Uninstall and after being uninstalled restart the computer and install the driver. In many instances it solves the problem.

did u try an external speaker....
if that works then there is an issue with the inbuilt speakers....
else....
the sound driver has gone corrupt....re-install sound card driver....
or
use an external USB sound card adaptor(buy for 1$ in Ebay) and connect external speakers to the USB adaptor.......

I understood your problem , you should do just followin things to install the proper audio drivers for the TCL laptop.

just go to www.notebookera.com

then select your TCL model from the list then download audio drivers (realteck HD Audio drivers)
then installl it and reboot your laptop that's it.

Reinstall your audio driver or try to replace with new updated audio drivers from manufacturer website.

sure pls uninstall your audio driver and reinstall correct driver, what make and model of ur laptop?

Check device manager and make sure the audio drivers are not disabled. If so enabled it. I am quite sure you have checked to see if its muted. If it is enabled and its not working, try updating the drivers or uninstalling and reinstalling latest driver audio driver OEM site.

**If you reinstall the same driver you might get the same error but its what a shot.**

That is not a software problem.
The headphones/external speakers jack socket has a switch to exclude from audio the internal speakers, when a jack plug is connected.
This is a very simple device and is not software controlled.
The fact that it has gone faulty at the same time you reinstalled the system is a coincidence.
If it does not mute when you insert headphones, all you can do is trying to play with the jack plug , inserting and pulling it out. If this does not unlock the switch, the alternative is having the jack socket replaced by a technician. This is generally an expensive repair, asthe socked is soldered on motherboard.
A cheap alternative to a proper repair is using an external USB to Audio Adapter and mute the internal audicard when using headphones.

You should check whether your audio drivers are not corrupted and first reinstall them. Also check the volume control from control panel whether they are on or off

I'm encountered that problem also in my boss laptop before. But my solution i un installed the audio driver and connect to internet and download the latest driver in installed it's working. Maybe there is a software complex in your system .
