Hi Nancy,
You might try a "RESET" to solve this problem:
Turn your Garmin on
WHILE pressing bottom right corner of the screen. This will reset your data back to factory defaults. This will remove favorites, vehicles, etc. - but
maps will remain.
Next, install the latest Garmin firmware for your GPS. This can solve a lot of "strange" problems:
Go
Garmin's WebUpdater Page, click
on "Step 1 DOWNLOAD", from there choose the Operating System on your
computer and either run or save the file, install this software and then
run the software with your Garmin connected to the computer.
Difficulty typing? Try a screen recalibration:
Turn your Garmin on
WHILE pressing the top left corner of the screen. This will allow you
to recalibrate your screen and holding the Use a pencil (instead of a finger) to touch the dots for the best accuracy.
If this was helpful, please rate it "4 thumbs up" - Thanks & good luck!
If you elaborate on the problem, I will try to answer when I wake up. Its bedtime here in TX, lol. Take care.
Can you clarify a little? Do you mean it has been turned on and has not been able to be turned of since Sept 06 2006, or do you mean the date is stuck on Sept 06 2006? If neither of these, please elaborate.
