Stuck yes my garmin has been stuck oin sept 06 2006 and I need to reset it yet I don't know how

Take the GPS out of your van to an area with a clear view of the sky. Power the unit on. If the unit is working correctly, then it will acquire the satellites. You can then put the unit back in your van. You may have to reposition the unit to keep the satellite lock.

If the unit does not acquire satellites outside, then the unit is defective.

From the Garmin website:

On the bottom of the unit, inside an outlined box (remove mounting bracket to view).

You might try a "RESET" to solve this problem:

Turn your Garmin on WHILE pressing bottom right corner of the screen. This will reset your data back to factory defaults. This will remove favorites, vehicles, etc. - but maps will remain.


Next, install the latest Garmin firmware for your GPS. This can solve a lot of "strange" problems:

Go Garmin's WebUpdater Page, click on "Step 1 DOWNLOAD", from there choose the Operating System on your computer and either run or save the file, install this software and then run the software with your Garmin connected to the computer.


Difficulty typing? Try a screen recalibration:

Turn your Garmin on WHILE pressing the top left corner of the screen. This will allow you to recalibrate your screen and holding the Use a pencil (instead of a finger) to touch the dots for the best accuracy.

do this.,

1. get it connected to ur pc and see if it seeks any software update through garmin.com
2. if no updates needed, start again see what it does, if same stuck, while stucked in loading reset it by press and hold the tiny reset button for atleast 8secs and release , it should then come back to normal.
