we have a sony kdl-32d3000 lcd tv.\r\non switch on

we have a sony kdl-32d3000 lcd tv. on switch on the screen displays coloured vertical stripes ?
after 3 mins they disappear & we can view tv picture, it does sometimes switch back to the stripes intermittently?

Hi,

Lines in the Picture could be caused by Bad TCon or Sometimes Bad Main Signal Board.One indicator of the Bad TCon or Panel is if the lines are in menu also.

The panel is the whole front screen, The TCon is mounted on the panel ,the main board processes the signals and send the picture to the TCon then the panel.


Lines running top to bottom wider than an inch would indicate a bad TCon board.

According to Sony's website

Depending on your serial # the TCon board may or may not be available as a part.

Some only a complete panel is replaceable

serial range 6,000,001 - 6,280,000 = panel 1-802-699-12

serial 6,280,001 6,500,000 = panel 1-802-699-11

serial 6,600,001 and up panel 1-802-755-11 TCon 1-857-213-11

      I have a Sony KDL-32L4000 and i am having flickering that causes ghosting of lighter images on the screen. From what i have read i believe it is the TCON board because it will happen anywhere on the screen there is a light image. I was currious about your ealier post when you mentioned that a main identifier of a TCON board or panel is by if the flickering is in the Menu. My tv flickers all the time in any display but it is not specific to one area, just lighter images. Do you think it is the Tcon as well?
