There are few possibilities....

  1. Power supply unit may be faulty
  2. Possible short circuit or over load from Internal circuit
  3. Low capacity incoming power(mains)

My 1490 will not power on tried start and even holding power button on for ten seconds

Common problem with these units are a defective USB port that prevents the unit from powering on with an external charger or charging the battery. The unit will appear DEAD. You could have a bad power switch but the unit should still power up when connected to the charger EVEN with a bad power switch. More info can be found here:

I tried to power on our personal computer and it doesn't work. We think maybe the switch in the front could be bad. When we open up the case, there is a green light on, so we think there is power to the...

There is no other way to power up the computer. The green light inside the pc don't mean it is on, it can be only the network card led (that is always on). I suspect a defective unit. Try holding the power button for some seconds if it's booting up.

Navagon 7100 wont turn on

Hi guimonds,

Make certain you have the unit plugged into external power, and the indicator light (LED) is ON. It would be best if the LED shows "Green", indicating a full charge on the battery also.

Place a blunt-tipped object (larger paperclip or toothpick with sharp end cut off) into the hole at the reset location, which is on the bottom left part of the GPS. Press down for 10-15 seconds on the reset button, then release. Now, press and hold the On/Off/Standby for at least 6 seconds (try 10-15 seconds if needed) to power unit back on. If there is still no power-up, then your unit may be defective. Download the complete 110-page manual from here for more information:

I hope this helps get it working. If I can help further, please let me know. Thanks.

Regards, Bill

Functional problem code SC542-00

Enter SP mode > Clear (yellow) button > 1 0 7 > and press and hold the Stop (red) button for 3 seconds.
Then switch off and on the machine.
If error still there, probably you have a problem in the fusing unit.
Possible causes are:
Thermistor defective;
One of the fusing lamp is open circuit;
Thermofuse open;
Fusing unit connector defective; and
Power supply board.
Good luck and please rate me, thanks.

Sony uvw 1600 betacam sp does not power up

Check the power supply area for the fuses for one. Second, the power supplies in these units are switch mode supplies that require a jump start from a small cap. It is possible that the "starter cap" is defective. There are other reasons for this type of behavior as well. Keep us posted on what you find.
