Vcr will not accept video tape

My VCR on the tv / comb. will not accept video tape into the slot to play. What can I do to fix the problem?

A common problem on this unit is the Mode Switch. It gets dirty or sometimes breaks and must be replaced - definitely not a job for the unexperienced. If you mess up just a tiny bit, especially during re-assembly, your VCR unit will never work right ! Sorry for the bad news.
