How do you get the bulb out of to change it of the inside lights to a 04 chevy impala

    the inside light over the back doors i cant get it open to change the bulb

Some of these newer cars need to have the complete headlight "capsule" remove to access the bulbs. They are usually held in by a couple of bolts somewhere. Just don't turn the adjuster screws

Open the hood.

  1. Remove the radiator air baffle.
  2. Apply light pressure to the headlamp lens to hold the headlamp in place while removing the retainers.
  3. Lift up the headlamp retainers to release the headlamp from the upper fascia support.
  4. Remove the headlamp from the slots in the upper fascia support.

You will need to pull the control head out and replace the tiny bulbs that are hard wiried to the circuit borad inside, this requires very good skills in solder repair. The light bulbs are available from Radio Shack, the part number is 7219

Issue with Lo/hi Culum Control unit On the Stearing Wheel ..As to be change To do so..Take Off Positive Cable On Battery ..For Air Bag Swich on the Stearing Wheel and also Risking Shock .

if its a dome light there will be a notch in the clear cover that will allow you access to the bulbs if its a third brake light you will have to remove the c pillar panels and then the deck panel to allow access to the third brake light
