Washer filled and died

I need some help with this problem. I have check and there is no inline fuse. There is power at the receptacle. If you move the dial and pull it out to start at any position, it does nothing. It acts like there is no power at all. Is there another fuse hidden somewhere or ???

Thanks for the help.

Hi there

you have to check the dial housing because the cause may be probably there, if there is power in the receptacle and whenever you start dialing, it wont start...if you still couldnt find the faulty part. if still in doubt, have it serviced instead. hope this helps...fixya!

Hi,

Some Maytag models have a fuse in the lid switch, but they are the only brand that does have one. since your washer is Maytag, then I would highly reccomend yo to check the lid switch, as most machines will nor run if it thinks the lid is open.

Good luck,

Circuit board

If the washer doesn't operate or make any noise when set on any cycle, or if it stops suddenly when it should continue onto the next cycle, it may not be receiving electrical power or, if the motor stopped mid-cycle, the machine's overload protector may have tripped. In this case, take out some of the articles to reduce the load and let the protector reset itself, then restart. Otherwise:

1) Be sure it is plugged in and turned on. If necessary, check the receptacle it's plugged into for power, using a working lamp, appliance, or voltage tester. Be sure the washer lid is closed completely.

2) If the receptacle seems dead, check the circuit breaker or fuse that serves that circuit.
3) Unplug the washer and check the power cord. If necessary, replace the cord.

4) Open the lid and check the lid switch and the tab on the lid that it pushes against. Press and release the switch: if it doesn't click when you do this, it's probably broken. If you're experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call an appliance repair service person.

5) If the washer still doesn't work, the controls may be faulty. Call a service person.

Good Luck

Will not turn on or fill up

Are you able to remove the cover on the control panel on the top?

There is a fuse inside, that might have failed, (open).

I am sure you determined that the receptacle you are plugged into is still live?

Tell us more-- and more symptoms-- like indicator lights, etc.

No power

Does the receptacle that the washer plugs into have power? Check the breakers or fuses.

Washer will not turn on. The knob moves but nothing happens when I turn it on. I've checked the breaker, the water, the plug/outlet, and hoses. Everything looks fine. But nothing happens.

If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

No power
Lid switch
No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

well htere is a fuse, its located right behind the washers front panel on hte right hand side. its an inline fuse( you can find at hardware or auto part store FUSE (250V 1A) , but this would stop all operations not just water fill. With the front panel off you can "see" through the machine to the filll valve and check it for poower when the "fill" is selected, I would point to a bad water valve or even a faulty prssure switch( not allowing power to the valve befoer condeming the timer.. the pressure switch is also located on the front rail by the fuse assembly anbd will have a plastic'rubber tube connected to it, i would disconnect and blow through the tube for possible obstruction.. ( if the pressure switch is satisified., the machine will think there is wate rin the machine and therfore wont allow anymore to enter.

I have a whirlpool front end load washer and have been getting an f20 error message. we checked the inline water (fine), also the screen inline to the washer (clean). When starting a cycle, we note...

code indicates pressure switch not tripped after 6 min...slow fill, water siphoning out(drain too low or too tight in standpipe)possible pressure switch under top right side

Washer won't start/fill/spin -- anything

Dea, does the washer fill? If it fills and justs sits there it could be the pressure switch. If it fills, agitates and then no spin no drain, then it's the lid switch. If it doesn't do any of the above, it may be a timer issue. Lift the lid and gently lower it, do you hear a click when the actuator on the lid hits the switch? I will attempt to attach a picture on how the consol flips up to see the lid switch harness, pressure switch and timer. Your model will have two screws that must be removed, they maybe in back of the end caps. To remove the lid switch unclip the clips on the right and left side, unplug the harness and tip the cabinet foward. You will see how the lid switch mounts to the cab. Catriver..post back
