Question about Philips SA5125/37 MP3 Player

Freezes and wont charge

I have had my Philips GoGear mp3 player for only a month and one day its screen completely froze.
It refused to do anything and I left it on all night so it would just run out of battery. When I plugged it up to the computer for charging I left it there for several hours, and when I tried to turn it on it wouldn't come on.
When plugging it up to the computer it will only stay on and charge for a few seconds then it dies and I have to push the reset button. When I finaly got it to charge enough to turn it on it only went to the GoGear screen and then froze up and wouldn't even let me turn it off.
How do I fix this problem?

Try repairing the device:
1) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website
2) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
3) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off (if you haven't done so already) - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new.

You may have to charge the device fully for 3 or 4 hours AFTER this process is complete.

My 16 gb gogear froze


1 On your computer, select Start >
Programs > Philips Digital Audio Player
> Aria Device Manager > Philips Device
Manager to launch the Philips Device
Manager.
2 Turn off GoGear Aria before you
continue.
3 Press and hold the volume button
while you connect GoGear Aria to your
computer.
4 Keep holding the key until the Philips
Device Manager acknowledges GoGear
Aria and enters the recovery mode.
5 On the computer, click the Repair
button and follow the instructions of the
Philips Device Manager to complete the
recovery process.
6 When the recovery is completed,
disconnect GoGear Aria from your
computer.
7 Restart GoGear Aria.

Reset the player by inserting a paerlcip into the reset hole. If that fails, go to Philips' website and upgrade the firmware on your player to solve the freezing issue permanently.

The screen is frozen and wont turn off or do anything


Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

you can use the converter suggested by philips
You can download this software from the philips support site.
Youtube files to be converted first before converting with philips conversion software

Cant turn my gogear on it Freeze´s


WARNING: this process will erase all songs off the GoGear.
Disconnect the GoGear from computer.
Turn the GoGear off.
Hold in the volume + button.
Reconnect the GoGear while holding in the volume + button.
Continue holding the volume + button.
After 5-50 seconds, Windows will pop-up a "Found New Hardware Wizard." - complete the wizard (BTW, you can take your hand ff the volume + button now).
