Hello. I have a Deskjet 810C, and a friend tried to adjust the settings. Now, when I try to print one full page of a document, it only prints a jumbled portion of one line. After that, it feeds through...
The symptoms indicate that the printer is receiving a data stream that it does not support or the data stream it is expecting (is set for) is not the one it is receiving. This also happens when the printer is somehow disrupted (like momentary power off) during printing. When it resumes, the setup information sent previously for the document has been lost, but the computer doesn't know about it so it sends data to the printer which prints merrily on in gibberish.
If you haven't already done so, try turning the printer off, disconnect the power cord for about 5-10 seconds, replug and turn the printer back on. Check to see whether that resolves the print issues.
If not, run the diagnostics: with the printer already on, press and hold the power switch while pressing the Resume switch four times, then release the power switch. If the problem is internal to the printer, nothing will happen (internal diagnostics should run and the printer will print something).
Assuming the diagnostics ran ok, the fastest way to fix this type of problem is to reinstall the printer drivers and software. Something has probably happened to the driver or the installation which is easiest to counter by reinstalling.
