Your wireless router is acting as the mechanism to hand out IP addresses using DHCP.
Sometimes glitches occur and I would recommend unplugging your wireless router from its power surce, letting it sit for a minute or two and replug it back in.
It will come back to life , reset itself and start handing out IP addresses to all computers and peripherals that normally connect to the router.
This is a common networking occurrence. This is called APIPA. See this link: http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/A/APIPA.html
APIPA is an IP address which is assigned when no other address is available.
Whatever Windows version you have, this will work if it's above Windows 95. Click on the Start menu, choose "Run", type in "cmd.exe" once you get a command prompt, type in "ipconfig /release", then "ipconfig /renew". This will release the APIPA address and attempt to get a valid address.
Hope this helps.
That will be the default gateway address.
Compare the settings there, my money is on that fixing it. Otherwise it will be the DNS server Main and Secondary IP addresses.
Do you use DHCP or fixed IP's?
you should only need to enter the WEP key and get youre friend to remove your mac address.
You may also need to refresh the ip address of your wireless card, so go to control panel>network connections>right click to properties>TCP/IP line>properties and ensure 'obtain ip address automatically' is ticked, then reastart your pc.
Or you can also click Start>Run, then type ipconfig /flushdns, so as to renew your dns and ip address.
