I'm not sure what your question is but, you will get a picture without software however, video and audio may not match up and system will probably crash alot, requiring manual shutdown and restart. If you have an installation cd, this is teh best place to start getting your drivers and bells and whistles that come with your card(utilities) your graphics driver can then be upgraded through Nvidia. If your are having installation problems there could be a couple of reasons for this. If you had prior Nvidia software and did not uninstall it that could give you a problem, If you tried to update your graphics driver without uninstalling the prior software first, this causes problems.

This is Pny's download site. The graphics drivers for Win XP 64 bit are available.
What I recommend is, goto programs and features and see if your PNY/Nvidia software is there. If your not happy with drivers, uninstall them. If they are not there run your cd, make sure download is finished, then restart system. Check in programs and features now and see if your software is there. If you do not have the installation cd then download form PNY. Any further graphics upgrades I, would then get from Nvidia.

PS-I can't find what power rating is required for your card but I would guess minimum allowable would be 400w and, power cord must be hooked up for card to work.

Is the screen black on start up after plugging the display cable into the graphics card?
