Question about Samsung HT-X40 System
I have a Samsung 40" HDTV and a Samsung X40 Home Theatre. Occasionally when switching to surround sound from just TV speakers I get ALL speakers going, that is, the 6 surround sound speakers on the X40 and the 2 speakers on the TV. The result is reverberation effect. To fix I must 'reboot' the TV, that is, turn off the TV and X40. That clears things up. Any ideas what causes this and what the fix might be. It had occurred occasionally, but in recent days it is happening more frequently.
The reverberation effect is probably due to a couple millisecond delay between the audio from the HT-X40 and the audio from your TV. I would recommend turning your TV speakers down to zero. Also, if you have 2 Samsung components linked with an HDMI, you should turn off that HDMI-CEC feature that they have. It lets the TV and HT-X40 to talk to each other and occasionally they argue.

Actually, the manual does address this problem in the troubleshooting section...to get all 6 speakers to work instead of just the 3, all you have to do is press the "mode" button located right under the "audio" button. When you press this it changes the audio mode from the default being "Stereo" to either Music, Cinema, Matrix, or Pro Logic. Use the Matrix mode for all 6 speakers (it should show you right on your DVD Receiver's display which speakers are being used)

I dont think you are suppose to have the tv speakers on with the theather systems speakers on because of the magnectic field can cause your tv speakers to mess up.
