Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Charge I have a Razr V3 that I just got in August. Already I can tell that the battery is losing its charge faster and faster. Again, the phone is new and I am hoping that the promblem won't escalate over time. I try not to the charge the phone over night, instead I usually charge it for a few hours at a time. I'm really frustrated with the loss of power. Help!

    I did do steps 1-4 when I got the phone. Now I don't really charge it much over 3 hours. The longest I will charge it these days is about 6 or so hours.

Hi your battery has created a memory because you didn't follow simple battery guidelines:

For a new phone with a new battery;

1)Use the phone the first time until the battery dies,
2)Do a full charge - 6-8hours for the first time
3)Use the phone until it dies the second time
4)recharge the battery for 3-5 hours

then your battery should be good, but now your battery needs to be changed, as it already has memory and can only be restored if completely discharged by a battery conditioner

I've turned off my motorola razr phone and i plug in charger. it shows that it charging but never says charing complete. i have left it for 1 day oevernight to charge and never says charge complete.

This is a sign of a battery nearly dead (or dead already). Consider byuing a new one and everything will be fine, moreover the standbytime will improve significantly.

RAZR V3 - New battery w/full charge drains in 1hr of standby

take out a battery and check if there is any red paper dots on the back of the phone. If you do have a dot that is at least partially red, that means that your phone got wet and it can not be fixed.

Invalid Battery

Totally discharging the battery is the way to go. But what you can also do to use your phone in the meantime is this. Plug your charger into the phone withOUT your battery in. It will tell you "Unable to Charge." When it says this, put the battery in. It might tell you "Invalid Battery" a couple more times, but it did eventually say "Charging Battery" for me. After that, simply turn the phone on and it will return to normal. This is when you drain the battery completely. Once I did that, I did not get the invalid battery error again.

Phone is dead wont take charge

You simply need a new battery. Razr batteries are notorious for loosing life and the entire problem is the chargers you are using. You MUST have one with an IC chip that tells it when to stop charging otherwise watch how long you are charging it. Also when you have a new battery let it fully charge and fully die twice before you start normal charging this helps a lot.
