Question about Frigidaire GLTF2940ES Front Load Washer

Best parts to replace

Our 10 year old front loader has started to make a
roller whine" during spin cycles. So, I wanted to ask what a good assortment of replacement parts would be to purchase. Kind of a tune-up.

Belt, Shock absorbers and what else? I'd like to do as much as I can at one time to keep it running smoothly.

We also have the matching dryer, any suggestions for it as well?

Well its started to get kind of grindy metaly sounding. It used to sound much smoother/quieter during high spin.

I'm assuming there are rollers/bearings or a single axle bearing?

I haven't been in it yet..

yes but its a chore bearing has to be pressed into the tub you might be able to rig something with a couple of large sockets and a heavy bolt and two washers and nut if you get my meaning now as to the dryer replace the rear bearing they have a kit for that pretty easy the door felts they have a kit for that too clean the lint out of the motor and a new belt while the tub is out check the heater coil in the pan behind the drum

On spin cycle has a very noisy bearing sound what is cost of replacement bearing/& the cost of getting it installed

not enough information Frank to answer
we need to know make , model year of manufacturer, top loader , front loader and have you checked for an object stuck between the wash drum and the outside container
if the machine is 10 years or more then consider a a replacement unit as the body holding the bearing will be corroded and may not be a replacement part
best get a quote from the service agent as to what is the best way to go

We have a 10 year old Kenmore front loading washer makes a noise during the spin cycle. We have already replaced the shock absorbers. Do you have another suggestion? It knocks loudly off and on during the...

It appears your drum roller/guide has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Vibration during spin cycle

Unless your front loader is set firmly on concrete and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement.
Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or damaged.
If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.

Clanking noise during spin cycle

I was told by 3 technicians that my washer had shot bearings and this is a common problem for the Kenmore Elite Front loader.

Sears knows it and will not do anything about it except try to sell you a new washer since it costs $800 to replace the unit with the bearings.
