Question about Garmin StreetPilot C330 GPS Receiver
While trying to update my Garmin c330 maps, the update software encounters an error while communicating with the c330 unit and instructs the user to exit the program . Garmin insists that the error is caused by the USB chip set in my Dell computer. They say that the Via rev 5 chips are not compatible and that it only works with the IBM USB chip set. I have not had any problem updating the units software nor have I had problems using third party software to communicate with the unit. Has anyone else had problems with the Via chip set? Is there a driver upgrade that could solve this problem?

Windows xp sp2 with all updates
I called Garmin support and sent the unit to them to check out. The software support guy ran the update two times and got the same error. The software support guy sent it to the repair department, and my old unit was exchanged for a working unit.
