Question about HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Scanning and copying all in one 5610

If I try to copy or scan a document I get a black page (printed or on screen). Also when I changed the black ink and tried to align the page it said it couldn't detect the alignment page on the glass. It seems the scanner head is not working correctly. Any help appreciated

Thanks

    Hi

I have the same problem too.

HP Support has directed me to here:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...

But no luck too. My usage for 2 years around 700++ pages for printing and scan is very minimal.

    Anyone?

    Thanks

When I lay the page on the glass and hit start, it scans the page, but then asks a series of questions (job finish, cancel, etc.) instead of spitting out my copy. I just want to make a copy from the glass quickly. Thanks!

HP OfficeJet J5780 Vertical Black Line Prints when copying or scaning only. Cleaned rollers and changed black ink cartrigde. Still problem.

Have you tried cleaning the document feeders Scan Glass? (small glass under doc feeder ~ 1" by 9") Most times there is dirt spot on this glass, causing a shadow on scans and copies.
Try copying from the large glass by lifting doc feeder / platen cover and manually placing original. If no line copying or scanning manually from large glass, then small scan glass is deffenitely the culprit. Hope this helps.

Scanned Items or Copies all print in Solid Black

I assume that you mean color images are being produced in black and white. If that's the case, there's a document on the HP web site that shows you what to look for and provides solutions:

Color Image Prints in Black and White

Good luck.

Blurry Scanning/Copying

Are you scanning both black and white and color the same way? The ADF (automatic document feeder) uses a different scanning area than when you place the document on the scanning glass. If you open the scanner cover, look to the left of the main scanner glass to the narrow strip used for the ADF. Make sure this narrow strip is clean -- no ink or white-out or scratches. This can make your copies look dirty or smudged.

Scanned documents are very light

I have found that when scanning b/w documents, its helpful to start with a black and white copy, not a grayscale, pen written, or printed form a printer in grayscale mode copy, but a true black and white on the copier or fax copy. The scanner doesnt read shades of black so well and when scanning multiple page documents, my pixma tends to scan in lightly. I havent found a piece of software to do just this, batch darken what has been scanned (at least not for free). Copying before scanning is the work around. Hope this helps everyone who's had this problem. It also doesnt hurt to darken what your scanning down a notch when copying

Black lines

Not sure what you have tried but if there are no lines when printing but there when scanning there is something on the scanner. Could be something as small a single dot of dirt and it will put a line down the whole page. Try cleaning the glass.
