Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

Acer Aspire 5100 will not log on

When I turn my laptop on, it starts up and then right before the logon screen comes up, there is a message over a black screen. The message says "Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details." What can I do?

    I have a Hp Pavilion a6113w with interactive logon process initialization failure. I believe it is a problem with Windows Vista and connecting an IPod or a camera.

    when I turn on my aspire5100 on it cant find the hd after a few time when i hit alt and f10 it comes on i ws told it is the mother board is it

If you have a Finger Print scanner (on select models), it may have failed, if you do not have this device , you may have installed malware - try rebooting and after you see the Acer screen start tapping F8 to get to speacial boot menu - choose Safe Mode and see if you can log in. If still unable, you will have to perform a system recovery - Acer provides an alternate way to recover - when you start the computer you see the Acer logo screen - after this displays hold down the Alt Key by the spacebar and tap the F10 key at the top of the keyboard once or twice - this will start the Acer E-Recovery program - follow the on screen instructions.

This is bullsh*t the same has happened to my laptop! I've been on various other sites and they all say they've tried to restore vista with the cd but that seems to fail as well. Most people who still have there warranties are returning their laptops. I guess we have no other option. Vista is ****!

Acer Aspire 5100 laptop's screen remains black at start-up


This is probably a hardware issue with the monitor. Just to make sure, uninstall, and reinstall the monitor's driver. If that doesn't fix it, it's a hardware issue.

You will have to either take it to a shop, or contact the manufacturer (your computer should be under warranty if you've had it for less than a year).

Laptop does not recognize "user Profile" at initial logon


when you are in safemode as administrator you can go to the user section and reset your husbands password. make sure that your caps lock and your numlock is not on. good luck

Realtech sound device is not windows logon test pass so laptop hangs on on playing some multimedia


goto device manger and find the sound card and do a driver update this could help if not right click on the speaker on the bottom /right of the laptop and open volume mixer make sure everthing is ok

Hi,

Offhand I would suspect video and/or its drivers. Pls try starting in "Safe Mode" and determine if problem persists. If no, then you may need to reload/update your video drivers, if yes, then you have a problem with the video card (hardware). I believe an Acer Aspire 5100 uses ATI Radeon® Xpress 1100 chipset. Am no just sure if it is an add-on card or integrated into the motherboard. Perhaps what you can do is to open the panels underneath the laptop and verify if the different cards including the memory are seated correctly.

Additionally, a post by Mark_Webber, another FixYa expert, addressed a slightly similar concern with another Acer Aspire 5100 here. It might be of additional information. This page might be interesting if not likewise informative.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
