I have a Visio VS42L TV with only one connection on back forRed(R)/White(L) Audio and Yellow Video Connector. This is connectedright now to my Playstation.
There are 5 component connectors plugged in on the back of the TV that go to the HD cable box.
Now, I just got a DVR (not HD) to replace the cable box and there aren't connections on back for all 5 component plugs.
So, I can unplug the Playstation in order to connect the new DVR. But then how to I keep the Playstation usable?
Or,if I keep the Playstation plugged in to where it's plugged into rightnow, it doesn't seem like there is another way to plug in the DVR tothe TV.
I hope this doesn't sound too confusing. Can anyone help?

Hello
There is no RGB connector input at the rear of your RCA tv. There is Video, Audio-L, Audio-R and S-video inputs. You won't get any response from your TV, if you connect the RGB connector to the above said audio video connections. You can connect the Blu-ray player with S-Video connector. After connecting it with specific S-Video cable to your TVs S-Video input and Blu-ray players' S-video output, assaign the input of your TV to S-Video, by going to its Menu, and sufing through it. OK.
look where it said input 1 , input 1 is the same input u where using before and put yelloy with yellow white with white and red with red , yellow is the video , white and red are the audio
from your dvd, plug the yellow to video output red and white to audio output. then plug the other end of the yellow to video input on tv and the red and white to audio input on tv. from tv, plug the other rca cable yellow to video output and red/white to audio output and the the other end yellow to dvd recorder video input and the ed and white to audio input
Use an RCA audio/video cable for this set up (Yellow/Red/White).
Connect from the Video out (Yellow) connection on the back of the cable box to the Video in on the back of the DVR.
Connect the audio (Red/White) cables from audio out connection on the back of the cable box to the "Audio in" on the back of the DVR.
This should still get you a decent picture but not a true HD picture for your recordings.
When you set the timer to record set it to record either E1 or E2 depending on which input you connected the cable box to and ensure that the cable box is tuned to the channel you wish to record.
*** NOTE: If you keep the HDMI cable connected as you have for the cable box and watch normal TV through the HDMI input on the TV you will get HD programming for your general viewing but still have the option to record with the DVR at a lower quality. ***
Hi, First remember that the "Yellow" is for video signals the Red and White are for audio. first connect the camera leads directly to the TV. First yellow connector of camera attach with the "Video in" of Tv and same as Red and White of camera as Audio IN of Tv. And you will both get sound and audio. Now same as connect the camera connectors Yellow in Video In of the DVD and Red & White For Audio In in the DVD, Now a new lead connect to DVD out Video "yellow pin" to the TV Video IN ans same as Red & Whit in TV IN. By this procedure you will get the Video and Audio from your camera. Hope this will help you. Thanks.
hi my name is mark, if you have cables. first unplug the power cords to the vcr and the receiver. on the back of the vcr there will an input and an output audio and video connectors. if your vcr does not have them you will need a new vcr that does. if you just want sound, find the Output connectors. there will two. they will be idenified as Audio OUT. plug one end of the red plug into the one labeled Audio R OUT, then the white in the one labeled Audio L OUT. if you are connecting the video up connect the yellow plug to the connector labeled Video OUT. the other ends connect to the receiver, on the back of the reciever find connectors labeled vcr or dvd AUDIO IN. then connect the red plug to the connector labeled R IN and the white plug to the connector labeled L IN.if you are just hooking up sound you done. to hook up video find vcr dvd Video IN and connect the yellow plug to the Video IN. on reciever. if you want the reciever to switch the TV you also need to run a yellow video cable from Video Out from receiver to Video IN on back of TV. when finished plug in vcr and receiver. select dvd or vcr on receiver to listen ot vcr on the receiver i dont know what model you have or it features i hope this helps thanks for your question.

First are they two seperate units, ie. a TV and a DVD unit, if so you are connecting the dvd to the TV and the TV audio to the receiver, anyway the yellow connector is composite video, you can run this from your tv to the reciever video INPUTS, the RED and WHITE connectors are for AUDIO ONLY, hence WHITE LEFT CHANNEL and RED RIGHT CHANNEL, what to keep in mind is AUDIO OUT OF TV into AUDIO IN on the receiver, same on a DVD unit AUDIO OUT of the DVD unit into an AUDIO INPUT on the receiver, but take the DVD VIDEO OUT to the TV VIDEO INPUT, other routes are possible but just keep the in and out in mind when connecting.
When tuning is completed go through the channels to find the cable box. (Note: TV will not tune to the box if it is not switched on when tuning)
If there is still no connection, the DVR/Cable box may need connecting with a composite video cable (red / white / yellow RCA connectors), rather than just a standard co-ax cable.
The connection is at the front of the TV. There is no red connector on this TV so you will have to use an adaptor to connect both left and right (red & white) audio into the white socket. Select AV on the remote control.
