Samsung YP-U2JQB MP3 Player

I put my YP-U2JQB in my laptop to charge it, now it won't go past the 20% loading screen before it cut itself off. It will take a charge, but I think I lost all my music files and the computer will not recognize it, but it will charge it.

to solve this problem you have to upgrade the firmware in recovery mode.

    1. Download your firmware updater from samsung. I use this one 20070522143600703_Samsung-YP-U2-V2.211-OC_th.zip

    2. In folder "Help" from this archive you will find detailed description what to do.

    Brief about my experience:
    0. I use Win XP
    1. Press "Play" button and hold it on.,
    2. Simultaneously press "Reset" button.
    3. Still holding "Play" run firmware updater.
    4. Now windows find new device and ask you to locate some driver files (drivers provided with updater in the same archive)
    5. After successfuly installing new device, button "Start" in updater become enabled. Enable "Format Data Area" checkbox and press "Start".
    6. Thats all. My problem was solved.

    good luck

Manual samsung YP-U2

I've found several YP-U2J (not just YP-U2) MP3 players listed by Samsung support. The direct link to the support for the YP-U2JQB/XAA is http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/YP-U2JQB/XAA . The manual is here: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200604/20060401094436140_YPU2J-USA-ENGLISH0.0.pdf . If this link doesn't work, start at the above link and the Manuals & Downloads tab. (You'll see a pop-up, click Send.)

Alternatively, start at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads . Select Media Players under Mobile. Then select MP3 Players and finally the model. Then look for the Manuals & Downloads tab.

I hope this helps.

check wether you use media player 10 or 11. If you have 11 remove all traces of it and either rollback or re-install 10. You will have to reboot your laptop once you have put media player 10 on.

My sam sung yp-u2j is being odd

Change Windows Media Player11 back to Windows Media Player10. To do this: 1.Go to control panel and remove Windows Media Player11. 2.A notification will come up telling you if you remove Windows Media Player11 it will roll back to Windows Media Player10 click OK. 3.Save and exit all programs and rolling back will take a few minutes. 4.Restart your computer. Quite a few files might be missing from your MP3 player but just put them back on.
