Hi, A couple of days back my 6300 Nokia phone was working perfect. I usually put the phone in silent mode in office. All of a sudden the screen went blank. Thought the phone got switched off. I try to switch it on , but only the blue light flashes on the sides and dies after some time. Removed the sim, battery and then reconnected them. But didn't work.

Depending on the phone model, to program a specific number contained in the phone's contacts for silent mode is usually done by going to the phone's contacts > highlighting the contact > selecting 'View' > selecting 'Edit' > scrolling down and selecting 'Ringer ID' > and selecting 'Silent.'
Each number for Silent Mode must be programmed individually and not all mobile phones have this option.
Incoming calls from phones not already programmed in 'Contacts' cannot be silenced automatically unless all incoming calls are silenced automatically.
hi, have you tried enter setup then profile then select general this should then set your phone back to normal if not then instead of going to general go to silent and change the settings under the silent profile, like turn ringtone on and select ringtone. Try the first option first as this is quick and easy failing than then just change the settings under the silent profile then you can even change the name from silent to general then you can change one of the other profiles to silent so try it then get back to me if you need further assistance ok
The # key is pressed for 2 seconds to switch your phone from Silent to General profiles. But it seems that on the software version v5 it's disabled. type this to check your version *#0000#
Try to "downdate" back to version 4.71 or pressurise Nokia to rectify version 5.
