Re: WIRELESS SETUP CONNECTION FOR TOSHIBA TE2100
Go to the control panel. Open wireless connection wizard and configure it by giving the proxy setting of the router. There must be a DNS server to get you connected with the Domain. First your os xp or vista if u xp means go to network connection and see that tab, wireless network wizard and click next to open to next to next and click finish. It will appear in network connection windows. But u want to take airtel broad band wireless net key, and u open the tab if u finish ur network wizard tab. And it will open the icon it ask for key, u give it key to continue. It will ready to access the network, so this is the way

Limited connectivity If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router. To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair. This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.
Contact NetGear TechSupport, they will walk you through over the phone and connect to your computer over the internet (if you have wired internet to laptop already to assist with setup of Wireless Security.
ask for level 2 support, otherwise you will spend first 30 minutes talking to someone reading from a manual asking you non-essential questions.
Support is free if your router is still under its warranty.
First you need to sign up with an Internet Service Provider than can provide a broadband connection wirh DSL (ADSL in Australia) or a cable connection together with a wireless router with a built-in DSL or cable modem. Alternately a wireless router plus a separate DSL or cable modem. The modem needs to be configured in accordance with the ISP's instructions. Then the Wireless router and the wireless card in the computer needs to be configured. Follow these steps:- 1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable. 2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address. 3. Enter the router setup, login and password 4. Change the admin password 5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast. 6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA). 7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router. 8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings. 9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router. 10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router. If you are not sure, then get a computer savy friend to help you.
Its hard to diagnose cause the process starts long before your current setup..ie, programming your router. So I have attached a website from Microsoft that walks you thru the steps to set up your wireless home network so you can backtrack...good luck and let me know if you have any problems. Pls rate this solution.
Note: You need to use a computer hardwired to the router to check the wireless settings.
1. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. 2. Connect to the router by typing http://routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm or http://192.168.1.1 in the address field and click Enter or Return key. 3. A window will prompt for a user name and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "password".
Note: If it does not take password as the password, you might have changed it when you have run the NETGEAR Setup CD so please try other passwords. If you cannot remember the password, you need to reset the router and run the Setup CD to reconfigure it.
4. Click the Wireless Settings under Advanced tab. 5. Check the box under Enable Wireless Router Radio and Enable Wireless SSID Broadcast. 6. Click the Wireless Settings under Setup. 7. Change Channel (recommended are 1, 6 and 11). 8. Change the SSID to uniquely identify your network. You might have a similar SSID with your neighbor.
Note: Do not change the SSID if there are already other wireless computers that can connect to the network.
Other factors that you may consider when you are not able to view any available wireless network:
a. Switch for the wireless adapter is turned off b. Distance between the wireless router and computer c. Possible wireless interferences
If you have your router set-up with security enabled, you should try to re-set the router and then go back onto the routers "control panel" and re-setup the security. You can find out the correct way to reset the router and the correct address to enter into the browser to access the routers control panel by going to the router makers website and checking under Support
1.Ok check that you've light for ADSL or not?
If you do have light for ADSL that mean your ADSL is working fine.
2.If ADSL light is ok bu internet light is not working that mean some wrong setup in the router
what can it be ???
only 2 possible case
1.your username, password and all require setup is not correct
2.you have to setup Domain Name Server. This is a 4 group of number like 184.108.40.206(just sample). You should ask the provider that you need to put in your router or not?? If the answer is Yes then you should ask them for this number. If the answer is NO then you've to set in your Router that you use AUTO DNS
After doing this setup..again monitor that your internet signal is up...IF yes...then its running..
So, this is a new computer you are trying to add to your router? I hope you have configured your wireless router for encryption. If you haven't you should, or evil people will read your transmissions. If you cant find the router key, you can reset the router back to default, (sometimes the router has a pinhole which resets it to defaults, go to Netgear to get info on how to set up an encrypted connection for your model (each model has its own default setttings, which Netgear can tell you--unless you still have its manual; then use windows to set up your wireless network. Hope that takes care of it for you. It is also possible that you can use windows wireless setup for usuing one of your computers as a wireless port, instead of your router--you might bypass the mess that way. But do find out whether it is encrypted. Good luck
