How do I use the function keys on my Eee PC to view picture through my video projector?

Connecting an External Monitor or Data Projector
You can switch to an external monitor or data projector by two methods. 1. Connect the external monitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and the laptop. The video information will automatically switch to the external monitor. 2. If you power up the laptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor by pressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make and model laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCD screen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fn key plus one of the function key a few times. Here is a list of key combinations for some of the laptops :- IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7 HP and Compaq = Fn + F4 Toshiba = Fn + F5 ASUS and Dell = Fn + F8

I somehow got on the wrong language and don't know how to get back to english

Hi,

The easiest way to reset the language is to re-run the startup wizard:

It will help you reset the basic functions of your ARCHOS: language, country, time, etc.

You can rerun the Startup Wizard anytime you want by going to

Settings -> Repair & formatting -> Startup wizard

Hope this helps,

Chris

How to troubleshoot my advent4211c for it to connect to a wireless internet network

First turn wifi on using functions keys (I think Fn+F11). A little icon will show at the bottom right task bar which will have a picture of a pc monitor with a red X symbol. Right click on this and select View available wireless neworks. Once you have that, you will see what you can connect to and simply connect. Please remember that you will always have to turn wireless on using the function key everytime you start your laptop again because for power saving it switches it off everytime you turn your laptop off

I have a advent 7104, when i turn it on all i get is a black screen. ca anyone help?

Your inverter could be shot, try attaching an external monitor and see if you can see anything. You may have to use your function keys to switch to an external monitor. If this works, then you have lost your backlight.

Accessing data of a "dead" computer

The easiest is to connect a standard CRT monitor to the external video port. Enable this from the laptop using the function key. One of the functions keys should have what looks like the outline of a standard monitor on it. Using the CTRL key and that function key will turn on that video port.
