OKI C5200: JUST REPLACED THE K TONER DRUM;
PRINTER WAS PRINTING FINE UNTIL THEN. NOW I HAVE A STREAK ON THE LEFT & RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE PAGE [ABOUT A 1/2 INCH FROM THE MARGINS]. STREAK IS MORE PRONOUNCED ON THE LEFT. SEEMS TO ONLY BE EFFECTING THE BLACK.
I HAVE TAKEN THE CARTRIDGE OUT AND GENTLY MOVED IT BACK AND FORTH TO DISTRIBUTE THE TONER.
IN MY CASE THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULTY DRUM. I HAD ORDERED A NEW ONE AND THOUGHT IT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DID NOT. I CALLED THE COMPANY AND THEY SENT ME A REPLACEMENT. WHA-LAA!! PERFECT PRINITING AGAIN...

One or more of the drums may be defective. Swap the black with another color and print a document. If that color printed the charectors ok, then continue the test with the other drums each taking a turn in the Black drum position until you find the bad drum.
You need to replace the magenta drum. Just because there is life left; it's possible it is scratched. Also, take a cotton ball dip in alcohol and wipe the LED's off when the cover is open; those black things that are hanging down from the cover. Also, make sure your drums are installed in the proper spots (magenta in magenta slot). If the toner "rubs off" after it prints... then the fuser is defective.
Trying cleaning the black LED's that are on the top portion of the open clamshell. Use rubbing alcohol on a rag and wipe each bar x4/. These units charge the drum surface where print is going. This should work.
Streaks can be caused by a number of things The fuser The ETB The toner cartridge The firmware The printer needs a cleaning. The slot in the printer. Incorrect Media.
Try cleaning the printer, use a lint-free cloth for the ETB, DO NOT touch the belt with your fingers, the oil from fingers will often make things worse. Always use a lint-free cloth, if you ever encounter dirt inside the printer, dampen the cloth.
Calibrate the printer. From the printer's control panel menu Configure Device-> Print Quality-> Calibrate now. (Press the Checkmark key to advance through menus)
