The load might be unbalanced, and will not spin at full speed as it could damage the machine. Try reloading the machine

try replaceing the lid switch if washer will not spin

  • Anonymous Jan 30, 2008

If the clothes are not washing then It is a belt problem. Try to move tub manually first, in case it move smoothly -open the front panel, the belt should be between the motor and the drive pulley (lower front). In case it torn or not in its place, you should replace it.
In case it doesn't move smoothly - maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub and prevent tub's spining. If this is the situation, it should be removed.

f the agitator is not turning, then the problem is wid motor coupling If it won't
spin (but sounds like it wants to with the lid down), the clutch needs
replacing. More than likely, the transmission will need replacing too
(oil has leaked out of the transmission onto the clutch). If that IS
the case, and you ONLY replace the clutch.

My washer will not fill with water or do any functions when i turn the dial

My Hoover 7700l ...on "fill" cycle, the water dribbles in. Takes hours to fill so we use buckets to reach the required level.

Tried: Swapping cold and hot water inlet hoses, making sure that dial is in "hot". This solved the problem for filling, BUT when "rinse cycle appoars, it's back to the dribble again.

any ideas?

Check the inlet screen on the hose connection on the back of the machine. This may be clogged with debris, also make sure you hose is not crimped. You can unhook the inlet hose and put it in a bucket and turn it on to see how much water is actuall coming thru that hose. I suspect some type of blockage in the inlet.

Cold water dribbles in rinse cycle, hot and warm water fine

If you check the warm water flow you'll likely find it is HOT...and not warm. Check the faucet end of hose to see if screen is clogged. Should be screened washer with the dome portion of the screen facing out at you. Remove it and clean with brush to remove grit or scale from screen. If you find nothing there you need to replace the water fill valve located at the other end of the hoses. Good Luck

Hoover 750L top loader washing machine

I had this problem. I alternated the hot and cold water valves (changing over the wiring) and then hot tap then dribbled instead of the cold. Replacement part i believe is around $35AU

Lg washing machine wft855a top loader

Following up my comment from yesterday, I took the machine apart and discovered that the black rubber cover on the valve that releases the cold water had perished and cracked, and wasn't opening properly.
I tested the hot and cold solenoids and everything checked out ok. Was just the cold valve sticking.
The wash cycle was working because I was using hot/warm water. As the rinse cycle needs cold water to get started, it was not working and the rinse and spin cycles wouldn't complete.
I have swapped the valves over for now (put the working hot one on the cold side and am using cold water only). It's working while I order a replacement...

Problem with Hoover 200M

Hi All
The solution is a faulty solenoid valve, either the hot or cold valve depending what temperature you are using.
Replacing the valve is easy turnoff machine unscrew hose, remove 3 srcews to lift control cover, slide out locking tab, unclip wires the replace valve which cost about 30-$40
