Question about Asrock P4I45GV R5 Motherboard
I jst bought a new IDE floppy drive and install it in my ASROCK p4i45GV motherboard and when I restarted my pc, it was not detected, I'm not a hardware geek and I dont have any idea how to fix it. I need your help pls...thanx
The cable for a floppy can be tricky. You should see a red line running down one side of the cable. If you look closely on your motherboard, you should a little "1" imprinted on the board near one of the corners where the cable plugs in. Make sure the red line is on the same side. Take the other end, and on the back of the floppy drive you should see another "1", do the same thing and make sure the red line is on the same side.
Turn on your PC and try that. Monitor your floppy drive, and the light should blink a couple times while it starts up, and go off. If it stays solid, you should double check the cable connections, or try another cable.
You can then check your BIOS and see that it is listed, typically on the front page, or under the drives section.
Hope this helps.
