My computer is saying no driver has been installed for the web cam and also that the usb cord has malfunctioned, it has worked so why all of a sudden is it not working now?

you just need to install virtual cam then go to manycam dot com and download manycam install it and select video source your web cam
now you can broadcast your cam on everywhere like skype, yahoo, msn, gtalk etc
by select manycam as your primary cam

If the web camera came with an installation disk, use the disk to install drivers then plug the web camera in a USB port. The computer should recognize it. If it is properly recognized it will work with all applications that support a webcam (Skype, MSN, Google chat..) If it is not recognized and you do not have an installation software, you should go to the manufacturers web site to download appropriate drivers.

You can download the WEBcam drivers for your computer from the WEBcam manufacturer's WEB site.
I cannot give you the link to the WEBcam manufacturer's WEB site because youhave not provided me with the details of the make and model of your WEBcam.

Go to devices select the driver that is your web cam driver if it is highlighted with a yellow icon then right click it and go to update driver. I would update it anyway. Make sure that you are online and make sure that you select go to the Internet always option. If you have the disk the original disk that came with your computer and it says drivers put this in and point it to the disk drive where you DVD or CD driver disk is located. This will install the driver again if you cannot get this to work. Go and select devices and where the web cam is delete it in devices and then try to upgrade again. This will install the driver again for your cam. Preferably use the driver disk your computer came with if you have it. If none of those options work try doing a fresh boot up. Just unplug the computer and push the power button in for about 2-3 seconds with the power cord unplugged now plug the computer in again this resets the computer to default restart your computer. try to reinstall the printer driver software. you can download the printer driver software from your printer manufacturer's web site then restart the computer and printer.

just click the file...and click " save " to start downloading....using winrar (and or winzip), extract the file and install driver for your web cam

But first connect your web cam via usb slot on your computer... wait till a message on the taskbar appear: found new hardware..once ask for a driver.. choose one from the driver and install it.

Just follow this step and your web cam will work again.

Hi there follow the instruction below.

1**. Double click my computer then double click USB Video Device. You can see your self then. If the USB Video Device not showing there then you have to install the cam first.

2. Power On the laptop/PC & after ready your OS for work just put your Webcam driver disk in DVD/CD RW/ROM. when its open, that time just select webcam driver and install it as per your operating
system(Vista or XP). So do it, and after finish installation ,restart the laptop. Your will see your cam is ready for use. Then follow again the first ( 1 )instruction.**

3. When you confirm after viewing your self in cam , then stop it. Now login on messenger & click to connect the cam from messenger. If any doubt then then ask me a again. Thanks & waiting for your feed back.

Basically, ya rip out all the USB layer registry settings totally. Then ya reinstall the entire USB layer all over again.
This removes any corrupt entries and "Zeros" it so to speak, back to the, from-the-factory-default-settings. All new and shinny.
Ready to have your devices that didn't work suddenly spring into life just as it was before.
Now make sure you have any/all Drivers and Software, to reinstall, as it will be like installing the USB device for the first time..
Ok now, if all this doesn't work.. then unfortunately there is a good chance ya USB "Thingy" is beyond recovery. Oh well can't win them all.

1. aiptek web site has a driver solution for vista users I had same problem but with Win XP it keep seeing it as a flash drive .... I uninstalled drivers and re-installed them,- same error, then uninstalled again and removed the USB from device manager uninstalled direct X cause it was the newest version, then install everything from scratch without turning the camera on then try again and nothing, finally I turn to the manual and somewhere says "if you need to use it as web cam then press the menu button on the camera and select camara!!! as soon as I did that and additional port found in windows was detected and installed automatically then I got my video and microfono up and running. So easy right, but like always the software CD is missing the manuals too and people do not read. LOL .....

check the usb settings enabled in the bios or the cable inside the laptop.In some case the usb cable inside get fault and it will not detect the web cam.In normal case if you plug any usb device it will detect the usb device then the os will show new hardware found and will allow you to install the software for it,if it doesnt detect you cannot install the driver for it and in the yahoo messenger it give the message
