have you tried hitting the reset button when it hangs? You need to use a pin to do so, there's a small hole on the end of the player.

SOURCE: windows xp drivers

XP should display it as a drive in "My Computer". It may require a firmware upgrade. This can be downloaded from T20 Firmware Upgrade V1.71

No Guarantees....Hope this helps.

SOURCE: iriver T10 will not allow me to add songs

The updater that I could find directly via iRiver support did not work, but based on one of the other tips, I googled for the Version 2.7.0.0 updater ([MTP] iriver Firmware Updater for MTP devices).
http://www.iriver.com/flash/popup/flash_pop.asp?board=down&code=736

I recommend that you try the "normal" updater from the website (maybe yours is not an MTP version), and if that can't recognize your player, try the updater from the link above.

Note: The updater seemed to hang at 50% for over 5 minutes... I gave up and unplugged it. Then it asked me if I wanted to upgrade the firmware. "OK," I said. It took a few minutes. The screen went blank. I put in a fresh battery. Turned it on. It works. I was able to use Media player 11 to synch some songs to it.

BTW: It did blow away all the songs on the device, even though I chose "update" instead of "recover".

My iriver is notstarting please help me with it

Hi,

check for battery problems.. Check for battery power holding with a multimeter (If u dont know get help from a person who knows measuring the power rating).

Else, if the problem is not with the battery,
try downloading and reinstalling the firmware from here.. click on the below link

Thanks,

The little trap door on my iriver t10, which holds the battery in, is cracking so where can I find a replacement trap door?

i would say search ebay for any used/parts only T10s, u know those really really cheap and strange prices...

or just be creative, see if u can discretely glue it with some gorilla glue or other adhesives without compromising the looks or functionality. i would personally sell mine on ebay if i confirm there is no way to fix this rather annoying automatic restart issue....

Hi, i have a iRiver iFP-790, i was wondering, how do i charge this device?

This device has an AA battery that you must replace. Slide open the bottom red part, and swap the battery for a charged one.
You can use rechargeable batteries (available at any supermarket) and a battery charger (available at most supermarkets, otherwise look for it in electronics stores)
I don't think there is a possibility to recharge the device using the usb port.

Make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player. XP has all the right drivers but the iRiver needs to synchronise with Media Player inorder to transfer music onto the player using the sync function. Get Media Player 10 or higher then plug the iRiver into the computer.
