Go to the Asus site http://www.asus.com/ , select your region click on Download, In Select Product,choose Motherboards; In Select Series, choose Socket754; In Select Models,choose K8V-MX; Click onSearch; ExpandAudio; Select yourOperating System.
Additional,pls verify that your Audio option is set to “Enabled” in your CMOS/BIOS.

you need to check all of your drivers, as
1 it sounds like your Graphics driver is not working well at all
2. you are not able to access your CD drives as your IDE driver is not compatible with VISTA and needs reloading
