I own a sandisk sansa e260 4.0gb and for some reason my computer is no longer recognising my mp3 player? I am currently running Microsoft 11 on my computer, could this be the problem? My other issue is that when trying to convert a WMA file to a MP3 file I receive the response of "error" when attempting to burn from my burn list. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Having the Sansa e260 and running WMP11, the easiest way for updating the drivers on the computer for connection is to download the
Sansa Firmware Updater. After the download, start the execute file
SansaUpdaterInstall.exe . You should be logged onto the computer having administrator rights, allowing you to run this execute file.

See next link how to use the automatic updater function, method 1 ( and updating manually going to Sansa forums, method 2 ) :
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/306

The error for converting wma files to mp3 is caused by not having the
valid media usage rights (any more) for the music to get them copied or converted.
This could be solved by playing or synchronizing the song at least one
time, before trying to convert. First check next setup in WMP11:
In the Sync tab select More Options.. , under Privacy look
for and select the box "Download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file".

I hope this helps you solving the problems.

Sansa e260 mp3 not recognised as a device on my computer

An Update: that yellow square means that it is not recognised, I missed it on the first read through. It means you do not have the required driver to run this application. First port of call is Microsoft Support and see if they have any thing, else Google it and try to find a free one that supports your player. Sorry about my previous post.

Hello,

There's a manual for the Sandisk Clip going to next link:
http://www.sandisk.com/media/53255/clip-usermanual.pdf

First read the instructions how to make a connection to a computer:
page 10 of the pdf file (= page 8).

When running Windows operating system, music can be put on the player using Windows Media Player 11. See the instructions in the manual from page 11 (= page 9)

More information about using Windows Media Player 11 on the Microsoft site:

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the SanDisk website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

Computer won't reconize my sandisk mp3 player

Hi, just had the same problem after restoring my system.

You must disconnect and update your Windows Media Player to Number 11. My reinstall left me at WMP 9 and it wouldn't recognise my Clip. Go to the Windows website, follow the download instructions, and you should be fine. When you plug in the Sansa Clip or MP3, it should recognise it right away. Hope this helps!
