Question about OKI OL 400e Led Printer

OL 400e Led printer

I have had this printer for about 13? yrears. It has had some periods where it was not used at all. In trying to use it now, I can print one sheet and then get a paper jam error. There is no paper jam but the printer is not picking up a sheet of paper and feeding it. Usually I open and close the printer and can print one sheet (sometimes not) and get the same error. Very frustrating. Any solution? Thanks.

Just thought I would get a little more specific help rather than whole service manual.

The machine will need a clean and service. This job can be attempted by yourself... you just need to get access to the bits that need cleaning. This means anything that comes into contact with the papaer to carry it through the printer. You will need to clean paper dust and residue of the paper feed rollers. Do this with Iso Alcohol, a lint free cloth and cotton buds. These rollers are rubber material and should feel "grippy". Also check that there are no fragments of paper in the feed assly.

Dear Sir(s) I have an OKI data OL400e the problem is "Message --Cover open" even i close it well Please advice Thanks

Hello,

had the same problem. It is easily fixed.
On my printer a OKI C5750 is had to main covers, at the front (which you have to open to fix a paper jam) and a big cover on top (which you need to open to replace toners).
On the left is a piece of plastic which (when closed) presses on a switch.
When you open both covers, and close the top one, you can see it on the left when it comes down.

You can easily remove the error (only for a brief moment) by prushing the shining metal switch to the back.

But the problem is that one of the rollers is in a wrong position.
So just take a flat screwdriver and press on the bottom roller, and it will click and the problem will be gone when you close the covers.

Dark lines appear on each page I print on the printer. I have cleaned every roller, dumped the old toner and added new toner.

Are the lines vertical or horizontal?

vertical lines can be caused by several things.
Since you said that cleaned the rollers, then here are other options
1: Most common is a bad toner cartridge.
2: try cleaning the fuser entrance guide.
3: could be a defective formatter - formatter replacement the fix.
4: worn fuser. fuser replacement is the fix.

horizontal lines are probably repetitive down the page, and are usually caused by a defective toner cartridge or fuser assembly. occasionaly a transfer roller will cause it as well.

Toner loves to get baked onto the fuser and cause all kinds of print problems. Not much you can do but to replace the fuser when this happens.

If the copier needs to be up-dated. It can only be done by a tech that has a laptop. The copier needs to be "Flashed" or you need to run the setup again.
