Question about Sony KDF-E50A10 50 in. LCD HDTV
From receiver to TV using component video cables everything is fine. I now have a digital cable set top box and have tried going from DVI to HDMI to the rcvr and then from the rcvr to the TV using an HDMI cable and I see a big message over the video about unauthorized source and after 10 seconds the whole screen goes to lime green. I talked to Best Buy and they said try taking the rcvr out of the loop. I did this and even replaced the set top box with one that I know works fine with another Sony TV going straight HDMI, no luck. I now have a set top box pushing HDMI to this TV and the TV is giving a slightly diff msg about the source not being authorized and that i should switch to Y P Br cables. Why cant I get HMDI to work?
Did you select the output of Cable box to HDMI out? I think it is in the menu setup on most cable boxes. It maybe active but if it isnt, try this.... Hold Menu button down and see if setup menu comes up and then toggle with arrow buttons on front of settop box and try and select HDMI if it is in there. Also make sure settings are on in the T.V. menu as well. Let me know and we will continue. Thank you ...GURU JAY
