You asked if I fixed the problem and I didn't. And I got tired tying to navigate your website to actually know where I was. I was sent a user and password, but found no place to log on and of coursed I have not paid for anything and do not plan to do so in the future because just getting through your site seemed like too much of a hassle.

Food particals only on the upper shelf

Sounds like either the upper arm is clogged, or unable to move. Make sure nothing is in the way and that it can spin freely. Then, get lemishine machine washer (at grocery store) and run a cycle through - if it's hard water filling the holes, that'll solve it. Sounds too simple - but it actually worked for my exact machine.

There is so much debris left on the dishes after the dishwasher has run, it's almost not worth running it. The debris is mostly small hard bits on the inside of glasses from the top shelf. Is this a...

this is a maintenance problem.. if the bits look like grains of sand it is actually food particles that breaks down during the cycle spraying the cups and glasses (usually the top shelf that gets hit worst). solution is to run a dishwasher cleaner through the system on a hot wash. To remove and wash bottom filters and spray arm jets. Lastly when loading the DW make sure excess food are scraped/rinsed off ...you will get better results. Thanks

The dishes/glasses on the top shelf are not getting clean

Here is a link to a procedure I put together to clean out your pump. A plugged up sump is the most common reason for poor washing on the upper rack.

Let me know if this helps.

Kenmore elite dishwasher leaves food particles on dishes

If someone is putting dishes in the washer and obstructing the spray ams that would cause food to stay on dishes. After loading dishwasher and pushing in baskets make sure the spray arm doesnt hit any of the dishes causing them to not clean properly. If that doesnt work or is definately not your problem try removing the spray arm and seeing if it has food inside of it. Some times they get food build up in them and need to be flushed out.

Film and food residieu remains on upper rack

Hi, is the wash arm underneath the upper basket turning freely and is it not blocked with any food particles? I've had items out of my dishwasher with a similar problem and it's been when the upper wash arm has been blocked or a spoon has fell through and prevented it from turning and washing properly.

Good luck.

Food particles remain on dishes

This was fixed on my unit by taking out the chopper assembly and cleaning the screen. There is full spray on top now. The screen on the chopper assembly actually had some plastic on it that was hard to see, but was blocking most of the holes. Since this was blocked, the pump couldn't pull enough water to push it to the upper spay arms. My chopper was actually broken so it wasn't clearing the screen, so I had to replace it. That will probably help prevent this from happening again, but if you ask me, the unit was designed poorly for handling normal debris that comes off of plates. I'd recommend inspecting this regularly to keep it clean.
