Question about RCA DIRECTV Satellite Remote Control
This could be a number of things... Maybe he is out of any programming areas, maybe his antenna is setup wrong, maybe there is signal interference, maybe there is problems with the cable from the satellite to the TV or maybe the box is just bad.
I would just call a service tech from directv to come out a debug the problem. Being 6 year long client he might even qualify for FREE upgrades and installation from DirecTV.
You could try our Premium Chat or list here but 1.) you would need to physically be there or your dad would possibly need to be able to have access to the dish and 2.)you would need some tools. You are probable looking at $65 for a cheap coax tester and maybe additional $50 for tools and possible cable. The decision is yours but if you can justify the cost of buying the tools then let us know.
