Samsung 64" Plasma no picture

Multiple issues could cause a no video issue. The fact that your audio has not been effected easily rules out your power supply, and more than likely you main pcb is also good to go. I would suspect the logic board because the set is not shutting itself down. Second likely defective parts would be the upper and lower Y Buffer boards. Here are some part numbers for you. I hope this helps.

Tv picture and sound are fine for about 10 seconds after switching on then picture freezes with no sound. Unable to change channels so switch off and on again. Problem repeats itself.

Sounds like the main board. You can buy replacements on eBay, but I'd hit youtube up and see first if for sure this is what the issue is. Depending on your TV, that main board could cost upwards of 40 bucks. I've yet to encounter a main board that was hard to replace, so don't be intimidated. Once you pull all the plugs out of it and put the new one in, the cables can only reach where they're supposed to go most of the time. The other times, they're taped in place, so it won't be hard to see what goes where.

However, I would like to point out, if you see lines, that's another issue. The no sound tells me it's the main board (where all your stuff plugs in except the power cable), but if you see lines then you may also have a Y-sustain board out. I don't know what kind of tv you have, so I don't know if it even has a Y-sustain.. But if your tv has been hit my a massive power surge, it's possible to have multiple parts out.

VO37L HDTV10A backlight on, get sound, no picture

TV sets that have been exposed to significant surges can have multiple boards that are damaged. If the backlights are indeed firing, and you get no picture, you may have a problem with the T-Con board, assuming the main board is working properly. This is exactly why I steer people away from repairing sets that have been hit with large surges. In most cases it will be cheaper to buy new sets vs. repair them.

LG 42LG5 TURN ON TV PICTURE GOES BLACK

This could be 1 of a few things here. Without opening up your set and trying to look at voltages or indiciator lights I couldn't tell you exactly without some more info.

Without looking at it myself here are my thoughts and where I would first look at.

It may be a main board because:
1) Main board processes all your audio/video signals. Bad main board means bad video processing. Could do that. Especially if the main board is not sending the right signal or a bad signal to the rest of the boards so they don't do their jobs.

It may be a power supply because:
1) Power supply is well, the power supply. If it's sending inadaquete voltage to the main board you may not be recieving enough juice to keep that main board doing your video processing or further up the line keeping enough juice flowing to your TCon board to keep it telling things where to go and what to do. The power supply sends voltages to your Ballast board(controls your lights) and to your main board through which power is supplied to your TCon board via a LVDS line and a +12/+16V signals. If the power supply isn't pumping out enough juice to keep the TCon or Main Board running, it could be a problem. By the same token it could be that your P/S isn't sending power out to your ballast board.

It could be a TCon because:
1) If the TCon is bad, you won't get your pictures. This could be the TCon board itself or the LVDS cable from your TCon to your Main. However, with few exceptions, if it's a bad TCon you're looking at a total panel replacement.

It could be a ballast board because:
1) The Ballast Board controls the lighting behind the LCD screen. If this isn't working right you won't be seeing much of anything without that back lighting. If this is bad, it's a panel replacement. These are not field replaceable items by LG.

Based on the symptoms, without more data or a eyes-on view of it, I would say you're most likely looking at a Main Brd or PSU problem.

See I cant cross that part number and I have all the boards sitting in front of me. That number is the akai part number, but not the actual number of the board. There are 2 boards that they call main in the service manual, the main control board which actually drives the panal, and the "main video board" which handels the video inputs and on screen displays.

PCB failure analysis
1. MAIN CONTROL : a. Abnormal noise on screen. b. No picture.
2. MAIN (video): a. Lacking color, Bad color scale.
b. No voice.
c. No picture but with signals output, OSD
and back light.

If you can determine which of the 2 boards is the problem, I can sell you a new replacement for $125 shipped.

Basicall....Control board is no picture at all.

Main board is no picture, but on screen displays work.

Having problems with flashing screen on my LCD

this problem sounds like the main video board. Try this... take the back panel off the tv and on the right side, take the cover panel off the board with all of the inputs, next, take a screwdriver and with the handle of it, tap on the tuner (this is the little shiny metal box with 1 wire and multiple connections soldered onto the main board) and see if the screen goes blue or loss of picture. Note: tv must be powered on, and with a nice clear picture in order to see results. If this is the case then you will either have to get the main board and replace it
